Re: Getting Started In 40k Means Getting Started In Painting

P3 Paints have some nice vivid colors that I haven't really seen mimicked as well by the "gritty and wartorn" palette offered by the GW line (which isn't to say they don't exist). P3 is what I mostly painted with. It's really smooth stuff, but you do have to dilute it some, because it is pretty thic...

Re: Getting Started In 40k Means Getting Started In Painting

Dom, in reference to Corey and I painting for years... I'm afraid that is only true of Corey, and he, despite being good, is usually too modest to admit to his skill. I'm afraid the only two warjacks of mine that ever ended up looking good were far from the most detailed works ever. They looked more...

Re: Winter Blitz

I'll be there for warmahordes with my cryx. Cant promise theyll be painted, though, as my dark eldar have pretty much taken over my schedule. Oh GOD. Not more Cryx. I hate the tryxiness of those undead armies. Hope at least one of the Cygnar armies being brought contains Arcane Tempest Gunmages (wi...

Re: Designing a new Chapter/Craftworld/Hive Fleet/Whatever..

Good call on that one, MiJ. I didn't want to hijack the welcome thread but got a bit carried away in mu excitement. I have a similar "Homebrew and Fluff" thread that I co-created and curate over on the Privateer Press forums, so this sort of place sounds like a fun way to get those creative juices (...

Designing a new Chapter/Craftworld/Hive Fleet/Whatever...

Dang. The demo event in Nagoya sounds rather rad, and I'd love to get some hands-on time with the wolves. Too bad it's a bit out of my way and I will already have splurged to go to Tokyo earlier that weekend. I'd definitely like to try and come to one of the hubs for a demo... I'll see what me and t...

Re: Winter Blitz

I'm down. I am among the few who thought D&D 4E rules were great, and I think this card system sounds like just the thing to make it better. Plus, who can say no to growing a spare tentacle arm? Or acid spit? :) Gamma World sounds like pure gold. I'd also like to get in some games of Warmahordes, bu...

Vassal Still Alive and Well?

Hey folks! Just joined the NagoyaHammer forums because I am starting a Space Wolves army, but my wargaming basis lies in Warmachine, and I regret the fact that I couldn't bring my models overseas. I played Cygnar, but upon buying the Forces: Mercs book, have been putting together countless Highborn ...

Re: New to Warhammer 40k

4th Nagahama Boy, checking in: Starting a company of Space Wolves, which I developed some badass fluff for so that they reflect more of a Native North American theme than the whole Viking thing. I'm thinking of playing them with Rune Priests as HQ, and using mostly Grey Hunters, with at least one un...

Re: Calling all new players of 40k!

Ditto on what Jolith said. The Nagahama Boys vs. Badruck and his Grots was quite a fun, super-relaxed event. Where else could I put a small 6-man, fully-kitted Death Squad with jets and Chaplain against a tide of Orks, just to see how they worked? If anything, it helped me realize that, as much as I...

Re: Welcome

Hey all! This is Dylan, originally hailing from Kentucky, currently located in the deep inaka of Fukui. I'm one of the new 40k players, along with Dom, Corey, and Michael from Shiga. It may be easier just to think of me as the 4th Shiga boy. I've already had the pleasure of meeting Badruck and getti...
