I would say that the basic problem is to find a material that is reasonable light and can stop a 5.56 bullet.

Call me an out of date, backwards thinking luddite, but I still prefer ye olde pencil and paper for army list writing. It keeps my brain in shape and forces me to remember the rules for myself.
