About 6 or 7 years ago I was working in Sussex with a chap called Major in a dispatch print company for graphic design. Major was the man who got me back into wargaming and introduced me to military history as a subject. Major is now one of my closest friends back home as a result. He also lent me an old battered vhs copy of a programme that had been on Channel 4. It was called A Game of War and it was televisions attempt to turn wargames into a spectator sport. It was a laugh and very unique to say the least. It was here we got the idea for Gloy as a character. Arthur Harman and Paddy Griffith, then big names in the war games world took us through the tactics of a battle and explained the dice rolls. Most of the time Arthur seemed to be making up the odds from off the top of his head and just rolling away aimlessly.
When they were explaining rules and orders they made a distinct wargaming hand chop to emphasise a point.
I'm now desperately trying to find a copy of this show but have had no luck on youtube. If any of you expert downloaders could point me in the right direction I would be extremely grateful.
