D&D 4E Lair Assault: Into the Pit of Madness in Nagoya!
D&D 4E Lair Assault: Into the Pit of Madness in Nagoya!
Game: Lair Assault: Into the Pit of Madness
Place: Nagoya Yellow Submarine in Osu
Date: Sunday, March 24th, 2013
Time: 4pm - 8pm
Details: The Lair Assault program by WotC puts the experienced player versus the DM. This is the last Lair Assault being produced by WotC and I'm looking for people interested in trying their hand at the adventure. This particular Lair Assault is for level 10 characters. Anything published by WotC for the 4th edition can be used to make up a character. You're limited to one 11th level item, one 10th level item, and one 9th level item, plus 4,200 gold to spend on other equipment (both mundane and magical). You can only have up to 2 consumable magical items, and no more than one rare item.
This will be the second time I've run the adventure. The first time, which was held on March 3rd, had five players (2 English speaking, 3 Japanese speaking) who managed to complete the adventure. If you're interested in trying out your extensive knowledge of the fourth edition rules, then come on out and join us!

Re: D&D 4E Lair Assault: Into the Pit of Madness in Nagoya!
I've never played 4th ed (my friends won't stand for it) but I would be willing to try.
Probably best not to rely on me for much, but I could come along as a supernumerary.

If you're interested in 4e, then come on out. I'll have spare characters out and ready for people. If you're interested in learning a little about 4e first, you can come out tomorrow, the 17th, which is the last session in an ongoing campaign. Two of the players can't make it that day so there will be an opening. Come on out and join us!Auxryn wrote:I've never played 4th ed (my friends won't stand for it) but I would be willing to try.

When are you playing tomorrow, and where?
I have several other commitments on Sunday but I'll try to make it if at all practical.

Thanks for the invitation, but I have a meeting for work starting at 2 and I'm committed to coming out to dinner after that. Looks like I can't make it today.

Not a problem. Hope to see you next week for the Lair Assault though.
Re: D&D 4E Lair Assault: Into the Pit of Madness in Nagoya!
I've always thought most of the fun is in making a character, so I did.
Here is how it turned out:
Half-Elf Paladin
Stats 10,10,17,9,16,20 (originally 10,10,13,9,16,16 point buy on 22 points)
Languages - Common, Elven, Primordial
Trained Skills - Religion, Heal, Insight, Intimidate
Half-elf encounter power - Eyebite (from Warlock)
At will powers - Bolstering Strike, Enfeebling Strike
Encounter - Fearsome Smite, Invigorating Smite, Divine Reverence
Daily - On Pain of Death, Hallowed Circle, Radiant Pulse
Utility - Martyr's Blessing, Wrath of the Gods, Cleansing Spirit
Feats:
Healing Hands
Improved Initiative
Melora's Tide
Ritual Caster
Weapon Focus
Durable
Items:
+3 plate armor
+2 flaming longsword
+2 amulet of false life
2 Potions of vitality
+1 holy symbol
Heavy Shield
Crossbow
Ritual Book including: Hand of Fate, Remove Affliction, Speak with Dead
various adventuring gear
some spare cash for use as ritual components
That's about the size of it. He's an empty-headed dandy filled with charisma-based smiting. I only used the Player's Handbook because I don't have access to much else, but it seems a decent character.

Looks Great!! He should be fun to play. Looking forward to seeing you there.

Thanks for coming out to game, Auxryn!
You played your character well. It's a shame that the group wasn't able to beat the challenge, but that happens when a party isn't at full force.
Perhaps next time you come out, there will be enough players for a full party.
