Thank you guys for good games! And additional thanks to Spevna for good (and childproof) terrains and nice surprise gifts to my son.
1p 40K was a hit for him and me, too. As you already suggested in the other thread, it is very child-friendly rule set and still fun for us grownup. Alternate activation keeps him busy and rolls without any modification was simple enough for 5-years-old to understand (with help of grownup with special rules).

I really enjoyed the rules, and I'll be using them for future games of 40K I think.

Re: October 30 at Kariya cultural center
Like everyone else, I had a good time playing 1p40K. It was nice getting my Tau out for a change, although lugging all of those models down made me appreciate again how easy it is to transport pretty much any other game outside of 40K and Fantasy. And that was without terrain (thanks, Spevna and Konrad!)
The rules themself are easy to learn and play. There are a few points where they are unclear but we could make a pretty good guess as to what they meant each time. The tendency to reduce special rules and dice rolls seems like it helps level the playing field a bit - it is by no means balanced, but probably better than the real thing!
From our games it seemed like specialized expensive units were probably not as good a value as cheap infantry (especially the Kroot and their Sniper Rifles, or the Eldar with their Feel No Pain)- since I have only played 2 games, however, this is a theory that will require more testing - hopefully at future "Joshin" events!
Mansions of Madness was a lot of fun too, even if two of us went insane or died. Especially because neither of those people were me
