Nagoya Games Day - Jan 29th 2012
Re: Nagoya Games Day - Jan 29th 2012
We're gonna try to be there all day as well.
I certainly don't mind doubling up on tables or even doing teams (practice for may, anyway).

We should expect two other Japanese Warma/Hordes players (I bet they would show up in the afternoon).Primarch wrote:What time are folks planning to arrive/leave? We have 13 people confirmed so far and probably only 4 tables. As most of the 40k players are bringing small lists we can double up a little, but the FoW and Warhammer Fantasy players may need to scale things back a little so that everyone can play some games.
Anyway, I'm gonna be there from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Though Kondo-san and me would have rather big lists with big guys, we are ready to take it for the afternoon, if in the morning there would be many guys with small 40k armies and team matches would fit.

I'll be there all day, too. I don't mind teaming up or whatever.

I think one table for half a day for FOW is not too much to ask for. Afterall this game gets played rarely at Joshin and the 40k games are clearly going to dominate the majority of the time and space. Anyway MtP and I were first to schedule a game and our game doesn't taxes anybody else for terrain.Primarch wrote:What time are folks planning to arrive/leave? Anyway, I'll be playing something really low-key like Cutlass in the afternoon, and if I can't find a game of that, I might just be hanging out.
@MtP: Oh, yeah we are on. Because you didn't make any preference, can I ask for a Western front game? How about paras against what you can throw at them? Or do you want to change theaters? Maybe something from Market Garden?
And how about 2000 points? more? We could go upwards of 2250 if you want to have a big game. (We rarely get to play afterall.) Or do you want to try fitting in a couple of smaller games at 750-1000 points?

That goes for me , too. I know that team games take longer to finish, so I don't mind scaling back the points of the 40k also. 750 down to whatever is playable. The Underdweller wrote:I'll be there all day, too. I don't mind teaming up or whatever.
So it looks like we have 13 people coming, so something like this?
Morning:
Table 1 Kojibear, Primarch, Underdweller and ToD - Team Game 40k (1500 a side)
Table 2 Muttoneer, Carnalfex, Konrad - Team Game 40k (750 points a player?)
Table 3 Mike the Pike and Job - Flames of War
Table 4 Jus and Tenorikuma - Warhammer Fantasy
Afternoon:
Table 1 Warma/Hordes (For the local gamers?)
Table 2 Asch and Konod San - GK-themed battle mission in WD around 1500-1800 points
Table 3 Primarch, Kojibear, Underdweller, Mike the Pike, Job - Cutlass?
Table 4 ?

FoW gets played exactly as often as the people who play it decide to play it. If you want to play it more often then stop playing other games. The fact that it is not so popular doesn't entitle you to anything.job wrote: I think one table for half a day for FOW is not too much to ask for. As for your 'we were here first' claim, that has never been the point of these threads. The goal is to try to ensure that everyone gets a chance to play. Since we dont actually book the room and are there at the invitation of the Japanese players, anything we decide is irrelevant if it interferes with what they want to do.
Following on from Koji's suggestion and what other people have said they want to play, how about this schedule?
Am
Job vs MtP @FoW on full table
Asch vs Kondo San @1500 points 40k on full table.
ToD vs Jus @Fantasy on half a table
Muttoneer, Konrad, Underdweller, Kojibear, Primarch, Carnalfex @40k on half tables.
Pm
Jus vs Ten @fantasy on full table
Underdweller, Job, MtP, Koji @Cutlass on half tables.
Kondo san, Asch. Primarch, Muttoneer, Carnalfex, ToD @40k on half tables
Japanese players @Warmahordes on half table. (According to Asch).
Of course, if there are more or fewer tables than usual we may need to amend this.

Sounds good to me.
How many points of 40k on the half tables? Is 750 too much, or just enough?

Re: Nagoya Games Day - Jan 29th 2012
@ToD - no reason for that, come along and play. If you dont fancy WFB maybe someone else can play Jus and you can play 40k all day.
@Koji - 750 will be fine.

Looks like I have an exam scheduled for that day I forgot to take into account.
So I'll have to bow out.
