Overcrowding at Joshin

Regular (and irregular) events in the Nagoya area can be posted up here. If you want to get your gaming fix, this is the place to look first.

Annoying, isn't it?

But yeah, those all seem like good points.

He reads everything and thinks about it. Instead of just going for it.

And in this case he has a vested interest.

Just so everyone knows A. badruck will not book a room unless he knows someone can come to the event. I did find a great place though I am going to get the price today.

Don't we all? I don't think anyone here wants to do less gaming in an overcrowded space whilst simultaneously alienating as many other gamers as possible, right? :D

What the Pike thinks we should do...
One regular 'main' event on the 4th Sunday of the month as we have at the moment. I will abide by the mob (I mean groups' decision :-) ) but I really do think it's time to move somewhere a little bigger.

Perhaps a smaller regular event in Nagoya on a Saturday/Sunday if enough people want it.

Semi-regular game events in Yokkaichi, Tsu, Ogaki, Kuwana, Toyohashi as a complement to the main event, preferably on different days to the main gig.

Tons/Tonnes of smaller games when and as we can.

Anyways, that's what the Pike thinks and hopes for.
This is very good, right on spot, I feel exactly the same.

I have been looking around for venues to get a clue about what price range we are talking about but I have never booked a conference room or such before so I have no idea but looking at sites like these it seems that you have to pay several ten thousands of yen for a decent room in Nagoya.

http://www.officepark-net.jp/
http://www.nagoyakaigishitsu.com/nagoya ... /index.php
http://www.nagoya-dbtec.co.jp/home/rent ... index.html

The price plan is usually written as you pay a "base" fee for the room of 2 hours and then an extension from that which will cost xxxx yen per hour.
Example room:
121会議室 1号館2階 80m2 (24坪) 24 people 24名 Base for 2 hours: 16,800円 each hour after that: 5,880円

This is the standard I guess and too expensive so I wish I could find something more like an older community center room or such but unless you got some connections that might be hard?

This might be a good place to start...

https://www.suisin.city.nagoya.jp/index.html

A list of public halls in Nagoya. I had a quick peek at the site and prices seem reasonable. It's also searchable by size and location etc.

Then there's this place...

http://www.aichi-seinenkaikan.or.jp/

It's where the first big Nagoya gig was held and where the forces of Chaos smashed the Blood Angels. We were soooo right about shooting over close combat...

Wowzer that place is expensive. Over 10k per room for a day.
The NagoyaHammer hall has 5 tables for less than that. (or 15 tables for a lot lot more).
Ideally we should be looking at between 5k and 8k for 5-6 tables for 1 full day MAX.

Further research on the first of the sites I listed turned up these...

Artopia - in the Nadya park/Loft building. It has some really cheap rooms for rent but it doesn't really show how big they are.

http://www.h6.dion.ne.jp/~artopia/

And this community centre which is right around the corner from Joshin.

http://www.suisin.city.nagoya.jp/system ... 343&class=

That's just in Naka-ku as well.

However, neither site really shows the room layout etc very well. Someone would have to ...gulp... go down there and see the rooms in ...gulp... person.

Anyways, we still have to talk to the rest of the Japanese guys first.

Looks like you all have the same info I have.

As for location the aichseinenkan looks the best but the price makes it abit out of reach for us. Maybe I can get a church in Nagoya to open there hearts and doors if I can swing that it would be free. But never would Sundays be an option. I will look into it if you all would like me to.
