It was going to be at Spev's place.

I'd still like to do some gaming this Sunday, preferably in or around Tsu.
Anyone up for it?

I'm still looking to play Magic one of these days, preferably in a group of four people.

Anyone got time in August or September?

'Cube' -- Uncommon and Common Draft

Post by Grim Ironjaw » Thu Aug 25, 2011 1:47 pm

cube |kyoōb|

noun

a large cardboard box filled with thin slices of cardboard crack (AKA Magic cards). The cards can be used to draft new decks in groups of 2-8 friends, and are certain to encourage laughter, merriment, and jollification, even without the accompaniment of alcoholic beverages.

--------------------------------------

I tested my uncommon/common cube this week with a buddy, and it was an absolute blast. This is a great 'limited' format for those of you who enjoy a bit of drafting and deckbuilding.
Again, I supply all of the cards, so you only need to show up.

Looking forward to playing 'cube' with you all in the coming weeks.

eeeeeeh? Surely it's [kjub]. Not that I'm questioning your undoubtedly-better-than-mine knowledge of the IPA...
...even without the accompaniment of alcoholic beverages.

Actually, they're the symbols used in my Mac's dictionary, which had the advantages of 1) being easy to copy-and-paste without expending brain power, and 2) giving the word an appealing visual similarity to 'noob' lacking in the IPA representation.

...None of which has any real bearing on the fact that Cube is lots and lots of fun! :D

By the way, I'll be in Nagoya this coming weekend and in Mie the weekend of Sept. 10-11.
Does anyone fancy a bit of Magic?
Both veteran and novice players are welcome.

Shameless thread bump + update:

Working on another cube containing the most broken cards in Magic. I'll finally get a chance to play those $1000+ cards that you only ever see in bullet-proof display cases.
My inner-dork is flooded with delight

Still looking for people to play with Sept. 9, 10, or 11. It's a toss up whether I'll be in Mie or Nagoya that weekend, but if you're interested in playing we'll work something out.
