It would CSM eitherway for me. Probs Thousand Sons but I'll bring my bigger bag anyway.Karantu wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2020 7:43 am
The detachments are just the 40k formations without mandatory HQ slots. However, it is beneficial to have at least one character(doesn't need to be an HQ) per detachment as they become that detachment's warlord and each warlord in your army increases your Command Asset draw limit.
Deck building shouldn't take too long if we draft the generic cards and let each team pick freely from their faction specific cards.
In terms of teams, I could play either Tau or CSM so I don't mind picking whichever is more thematic. If you guys don't mind could you tell me what faction you plan on playing?
The only LoW that I do own is a Stormsurge but it is still a numbers so a horde army could still pose a threat to a LoW. But I do agree that it would be more fun to try and balance out the number of LoWs for thematic reasons more than balance reasons.

@The Underdweller - if possible I'd like to play at 125 points for Kill Team (ie the newer missions in Elites and the Annual). I'll bring a roster either way so no fuss if you'd prefer 100 (also happy to play a Commanders game if you want to go all the way to 200!).
@Karantu - what points value do you think is worth aiming for in the afternoon? I can get up to 2K but I don't want you to have to squeeze in back to back big games
I'll prepare 1K and 1300 lists at least, do you think anything bigger is worthwhile?

There might be someone from my D&D group coming along in the morning with his kids. He is interested in Underworlds/Beastgrave. If anyone is able to do a demo, that would be fantastic. It's not definite yet, but I thought I'd give everyone a heads up just in case.

I'm not entirely sure how much time I'll have after the Apoc game but something around 1000~1500pts shouldn't be too bad. I'll make a few lists too and we'll see what we can fit in depending on how much time we get.Jye Nicolson wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2020 12:39 pm@The Underdweller - if possible I'd like to play at 125 points for Kill Team (ie the newer missions in Elites and the Annual). Shouldn't be a problem, although there may be a bit of queueing at this point.Primarch wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2020 12:51 pmThere might be someone from my D&D group coming along in the morning with his kids. Would it help if I brought more faction decks along? I can easily do any of the Beastgrave factions, just not paintedThe Other Dave wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2020 10:14 pmShouldn't be a problem, although there may be a bit of queueing at this point.![]()

Hmm, just to be safe, yeah - I'll have demo decks for the condemnors and despoilers, but another one or two warbands to lend out might help. Thanks!Jye Nicolson wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2020 11:20 pmWould it help if I brought more faction decks along? I'd offer to help, but I've only got Zarbag, Thorns and the Cursebreakers painted. I've got a decent deck made for Zarbag, a sub-par deck made for the Thorns, and no deck at all for the Cursies. I could build a beginner-ish one for them, if that'd help? I suspect Dave has a better eye for such things than me, though, so it'd be a bit of a shot in the dark. Happy to do it, though, if it'd help.
