Desktop 3D printer with resolution of about 500DPI for 1200 euros - still pricy, but in the range that suggests things just might come down to the "affordable" range within the forseeable future.
'Course, it doesn't spell doom for regular minis manufacturers, as most folks probably couldn't design anything like pro model quality in a CAD program, but I do see a cottage industry of people selling designs to print out yourself.

Interesting, but still well out of most folks budgets. It'll be fun to see where this technology leads in the future. Having watched a video of a 3D printer at work, it looks like it'll be a messy, time consuming process generally speaking, so folks shouldn't be expecting to get a full army out of one anythime soon.
