He's been mentioned on this site before by Danguinius: http://www.nagoyahammer.com/forum/viewt ... f=13&t=183Admiral-Badruck wrote:... but this guy is a nuts good painter...
And I'm sure ToD posted a link to his blog once upon a time.
Still, its nice to see his whole army laid out like that. I hadn't realised until I saw it in amongst the other models quite how big the Caestus was.
Having seen some of those models in the plastic, they really are very nicely done.

Ryogo is well- and rightly-famous for his mad painting skills. And he's just about the nicest guy you could care to meet too, fun to play against. Now imagine being in a club with him and this guy. Super-humbling, it was, I tell you what.

At that stage, I'd be putting bare plastic down on the table everytime. The Other Dave wrote:Ryogo is well- and rightly-famous for his mad painting skills. They were both at the world wide war and the tau painter told me he had been they both got in to the game about the same time and had been trying to one up the other for as long as they had been in the hobby.

Pretty much, yeah, with that whole Fukuoka group (the bulk of the stuff in the RoR gallery is still from folks from that group - even this guy). Every month's meeting would open with a good half-hour of people pulling their latest from their cases, lots of ooh-ing and aah-ing at cool paint jobs, conversions, unusual models, what have you.Admiral-Badruck wrote:They were both at the world wide war and the tau painter told me he had been they both got in to the game about the same time and had been trying to one up the other for as long as they had been in the hobby.

Re: A great Japanese Painter
Well, one of the factors in my getting out of 40K was the fact that, thanks to painting speed and a constant churn of new releases, I still couldn't field a fully-painted 1500-point force of my White Templars after collecting them for 4 years. That level of painting is fine for skirmish games, but for large scales I'll stick to drybrushing and dipping.Admiral-Badruck wrote:TOD Are those your Templar looking white Marines? the are really good looking man... I'm set on the goblin front too, actually - thanks, though!
