good deal on textured bases

Post by me_in_japan » Sun Oct 05, 2014 9:12 am

For those who dont keep a weather eye on kickstarter, CoolMiniOrNot is doing a soon-to-be-finished KS with Micro Arts Studio, purveyors of actually pretty damn nice resin bases for your minis. The KS is to fund plastic inserts for the bases. (This is the first time Ive seen this, actually.) Anyway - here's the link:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/co ... o-art-stud

As I understand it, the KS is sufficiently well funded that if you pledge at the 22 dollar level you get double what you pledge for (ie instead of 10 x 30mm, 6x40mm and 1 x 50mm, you get 20, 12 and 2 respectively. For 22 bucks that is a damn good deal. You can pledge for further multiples of sets, at 22 USD per doubled-set. )

Personally, I havent pledged, but if they put their infinity sci-fi sets up as an option I'll be in like a whippet. Those of you who fancy a budget option for some snazzy bases for whatever game system you play may want to take a look. Best make it quick, though, as pledges close in about 12 hours.

ps for those who dont know kickstarter, it's supposed to be a fund raising platform for small businesses who want to raise startup cash for a new product or service. But, lots of companies (and CMON is especially fond of this) use it as a glorified special-offer pre-order system.

just to clarify, there are many more options than the initial 4. Scroll down and see all the options for the stretch goals.
