@Jye - Is the sarcophagus on the front of the penitent engine part of the original kit or a conversion? It's a cool idea though and fits nicely with the grimdark aesthetic. If you're extra heretical you first get placed in an iron maiden and then you're strapped to the front of a walking death machine.
It's part of the kit, and your analysis is bang on the money - the Anchorite has a better armour save because she's a Sister they're so angry with that they want to keep her alive longer to suffer longer!

The Sisters are messed up.

@Karantu the Titans are looking great. I really need to get you or Dave to give me a demo game at some point, but I've heard such good things about the game that I'm scared it will trigger instant purchases.

@Karantu- those are some super-cool, big, stompy robots. Titanticus would be a lot of fun, but you know me, I'd have to try and scratch build Gargants.....

@Jye- that Iron-maiden, penitent engine thing is just mental! So happy that GW has not lost touch with the grim-dark.

I have been doing a lot of nothing. Watching movies and reading Batman. But now that summer is finished and my brain is beginning to re-congeal from it's melted state. I have been getting some puttying in. Will have something to show for it soon.
...and now his Head was full of nothing but Inchantments, Quarrels, Battles, Challenges, Wounds, Complaints, Amours, and abundance of Stuff and Impossibilities.....

Got those three bases of Nurglings based up, so:

Here is my 12-PL secret weapon, 48 wounds of infiltrating Nurglings and a friend to keep my daemon engine topped off - which I realized the other day, as it's a second detachment, that I can't even use in games of 50 power or less, so I'll probably actually hardly use them as summoned daemons can't hold objectives which defeats the purpose of 'em. Bother. Still, they were fun to paint and turned out nice!

@ToD - That's a lot of nurglings. Well done, they look fantastic.

Basically, nope, haha. Here's a closeup:

They got my basic preshading of a sepia wash then a white drybrush, then I slopped contrast yellow over the whole lot, then painted one or two nurglings per base in various other slightly-thinned contrast colors (blue, green, flesh tone, pink, what have you) right over the yellow, then picked out fleshy bits in (regular acrylic) pink and finally boils, eyes, and teeth in pale yellow. The biggest pain was actually just getting the first yellow coat into all the nooks and crannies, and overall it took probably less than an hour of sustained painting time per batch.

I think the topic of Contrast pooling came up a bit ago? Senasuke's latest video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ExAZKKjF1as) where she paints gundams of all things with Contrasts, goes into her pretty nice-looking technique of fixing contrast pooling on flat surfaces. Might be relevant to some of our interests (Jye!).

A wild Miguelsan appears!

Very colorful critters, papa Nurgle will be happy.

This damn plague scuttled my Necromunda campaign at the begining of the year, then Nagoyahammer so my hobby mana metter went down to zero. But recently I received an Imperial Knigth from a charity auction and I present it here for your enjoyment.

I hope I can keep the focus to paint more stuff going. I've only done some Btech figures and the knight so far. My ailing old man eyes don't help either :D

M.

Edit: Some pieces are missing, I hope to get some alternate arms, or scratchbuild them for extra laughs. I'm working on a missile pod with bits I got at Nagoya years ago

Finally finished up these two today - they've been sitting half-painted on my desk for at least a month now, so I told myself I wasn't allowed to prime anything else up 'til I finished them.

(The bits of inevitable stray static grass have been taken care of )
Next I'll get into blitz bowl, and repainting some of my Blackstone set that didn't turn out as well as I'd have liked in retrospect.
