With no gaming today I was able to be productive and get some more of the army complete.

Tonight I should be able to put all the arms on my marines. Then this week I'll finish the shoulders and get to work on the tanks.

That's the Great thing about making your own chapter. My main army list is Grey Knights/Templar allies as my 1st company and a Blood Angels/Templar army as my 2nd company. The 3rd company might be a Blood angels/space wolves one. Looking at some Wolf Cavalry right now. I'm still going with the Sanguinary guard as my grey knight termies. And once the next set of grey knight weapons and arms are painted, my tac squad will be just plain grey knights. Which is why I magnetized all the arms. I want to change them per company I'm using or per the weapons I've paid for in that list. There is still a lot of painting to be done but as long as they are presentable, I'll use them. I won't use non-painted models and dislike playing against them. A pet peeve of mine.

GW wants to charge us 60 pounds to buy FW? No worries! Behold my count as Lightning fighter almost ready to join my count as IG. :lol: :lol: :lol:
GW bashing aside I think it messes better with the stuff I already have being a propeller plane rather than a high tech thingy. I already have the next one for Eldar on the workbench.

@miguel - keeping it old school, i see :D

@PV - I like the scheme for your army, and it looks pretty coherent to me. One thing I would say is that as you have a lot of different marine army variant models in your army, it would be helpful for folks if you were to post a list somewhere (maybe a new topic in the 40k forums) that detailed which army you actually play in terms of rules, and which models represent which units, maybe split by section. e.g.

Ruleset: Codex Grey Knights
HQ
unit: Grey Knight Chapter master
model: Kaldor Draigo

Elite
unit: Grey Knight Terminators
model: Blood Angel Sanguinary Guard

unit: Grey Knight Assault Dreadnaught
model: Drago (Khador Warjack)

etc, etc. I use these as examples only, but hopefully you get the idea. I appreciate you know what everything is supposed to represent, but I think it's worth taking the time to write it up, otherwise you'll end up with game after game of people saying "huh? what's that again? I thought they were assault marines. Weeeeell, if I'd known they were terminators I wouldnt have charged them, would I. Can I take that move back?" and so on. Liable to get bloody annoying for both you and your opponent. I would also go canny with changing what models stand for from game to game. If the sanguinary guard are terminators today, they should be terminators tomorrow, too. Otherwise, again, folks will start getting cranky. Just my two cents - ymmv, etc. :)

@ Miguel: I love the creation. It looks like it will be a very fitting conversion. Keep up the good modeling.

I tried doing that most folks said that was a bad idea. ;) not sure I get what you are doing but as long as you understand that is all the matters. 8-)
