They were both brushed on mate.me_in_japan wrote:youre welcome. by the way - did you spray on either of them, or were they both brush on varnishes?Seb wrote:I just tried coating a model with gloss varnish and then a layer of matt varnish.
I worked well and the gloss disappeared.
Thanks for the good advice.
I am using mr.hobby clear colour or something it says, flat surface and gloss.

Re: Brush Maintenance and Varnish
cheers. Im a big fan of spraying on varnishes, but it does tend to cause horrible problems with the matt varnish frosting over
I might just buy a bigger brush and start doing it the traditional way...

I finished one marine so far, I will try to get pictures up as soon as possible.Admiral-Badruck wrote:@ Seb..Do you have any pictures yet? If so I would like to see some..
I spent sooo much time painting it, I finished my marine in 10+ hours or so I think but still look like noob work.. I am going for the weathered roughed up look to cover my poor painting skills.

I see well I guess that is one way of covering mistakes... I I sure think it takes a bit of talent to make a good weathered look...
