Some of that stuff could be excused as part and parcel of the casting process BUT the wings are disgusting. Anyone who'd knowingly pack that and send it off should be shot.

Before I contact FW ill try and fix it myself, not because I feel I should, but because it took them near 3 weeks to send it last time, and 3 weeks from now ill be in a new house, which raises shipping address issues. If I can't fix it tonight, I'll mail em and moan. I just hope they don't ask me to send it back - getting to the post office is a pita and it'll add weeks to the turnaround time :(

Just so as not to be Nancy Negative, I should mention that I took a closer look at the Warhammer Forge stuff and it's really, really nice. Very crisp, and excellent details on the sculpts.

@yehan - for the shoulder pads just cut the shoulder bit off the arm of the marine and stick it on that way. For the jetbike, use a piece of thick wire like a big paper clip or get fancy and build a tall flying base and pin the jetbike to that.

@MiJ: The wings! Ouch.

Last night, I worked on basing up the napoleonic regiments. Tonight I worked on the lancers some more.

I've been painting an Ottoman Empire Naval Battle Group for Dystopian Wars. Needs to be finished by next Saturday, or I have to buy everyone a round of toasties. Just got ten stands of "tiny flyers" to do, so I should be fine. :)

Also just finished reading A Feast For Crows. That was hard going.

Me_in_Japan thanks for the tip, but they are not for my Space marines.
They are for my Hello Kitty Dust Tactics Terminator!:P

Final managed to get a look at the Lizardmen Army Book (also learned not to say Lizardmen Codex). Haven't looked at it much yet, but looks like most things just got minor changes.

Salamanders can't march and shoot anymore, Slann are more expensive, Skinks have even lower leadership.

Temple guard are cheaper, and Saurus can get spears for free. Oh and if Jungle swarms are in base contact with an enemy unit, all other melee attacks against that unit get poison.

They kept the Cold-blooded special rule, and got another one that lets them get an extra attack if they roll a 6 to hit in close combat (but they can't hold back from chasing a defeated enemy unless there is a Skink character nearby).

Anyway, I will have to read it more carefully, but overall looks like it might be more balanced but still a good army to play!

I also went Lizardman hunting. Found a couple of Anklosaurus at Daiso to represent the new Bastiladon unit, but haven't found any Ripperdactyl type models yet (I already have 3, though, so no big deal).

Also found (but passed up on) this Dino-tank at Aeon.

Since I seem to be feeling trepidation about starting painting again with something as relatively fiddly as the Marines I have on deck for Advanced Space Crusade, I primed the rest of my big Troll unit for the gobbos. That should be a quick and easy paint job to ease me back into the swing of things, knock on wood.

Int'restin. How does Dys Wars play? I quite like the aesthetic, but don't know owt about the rules. Also, you didn't like aFfC? Is that the second one or the third one? I remember the 2nd one was good, but the 3rd one got a bit trudgy. That said, I did read em all twice (once at first then again just before I got Dance with Dragons, to remind myself wth was going on.)

At the mo I'm considering whether its worth my while re-reading the Wheel of Time books, now I have the final book. It's been on my shelf for a while now, daring me to try to remember what's happening without re-reading the previous...12? 13 books? :?
