Spent the 31st and 1st with friends in Aisai. Played 7 Wonders, Puerto Rico, Fresko, Tikal, and Mystery of the Abbey.

Today, back to painting, hopefully.

Today I went "holy cow there's gaming this Saturday!" and put down the base colors for a bunch more epic Tyranids.

(Part of me wants to meta-game, knowing 2 of the 3 forces I'm probably facing on Saturday will be heavy on the titan-killer weapons, and use an army whose Achilles heel isn't titan-killer weapons, but the other part of me wants to use Tyranids anyway, so there you go. heh)
Feel free to call me Dave!

Today I painted some more terrain for Black Powder as well as finished off the paint work on my Hussars. Huzzah!
I also watched Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, having watched The Fellowship of the Ring yesterday. Tomorrow I will watch Return of the King. Sadly I dont have the time to watch them all in one sitting. :D

Here it is guys, the Mr Motivator of all threads is back. It's getting cooler gradually and the Autumn mellow vibes are blowing in.
Happy days. Today I painted three wooden modular boards to convert my 4 by 4 Mordheim board into a fully fledged 4 by 6 gaming board.
I also varnished the existing boards which needed tarting up and a bit of a reflock.
After 2 years the heavy behemoth was due a bit of TLC.
The whiff of GW Ardcoat spray, Army Painter Anti shine and DIY store dark brown base coat paint, the feel of the mask had me all nostalgic and at one with the hobby for a change. Happy days. This is what its all about.
Forget about yesterday, don't worry about tomorrow because all that matters is today.

Completely agree. Nothing hits the spot like a bit f terrain building. It's like mini painting and DIY rolled into one. Best of luck wi the Mordheim board. Personally, I have high hopes for a Cryx board I'm kinda-but-not-really working on. It'll happen tho, one day. After the lion lady, and my as-yet-undecided golden demon entries. And probly some other stuff thatll inveigle its way into my schedule. But that Cryx board will come to pass. There will be trees and swamp, oh yes indeedy...
current (2019) hobby interests
eh, y'know. Stuff, and things

Wow. And then Corona happened. Just....crickets, all the way through to 2023...

Good work, dude. Definitely terrain modeling has some kind of Zen that miniature painting can sometimes miss. Maybe it is all the expectations with miniatures that terrain painting doesn't have. It is a very simple hobby in some ways, but it also feel more liberated or something.

Anyway, I look forward to seeing the Mordheim boards this October!

Tomorrow, I worked and I don't feel like painting. :? But I will make a commitment for tomorrow! :!:

Today I:
Wrote up a 1500 point army list;
Selected the models from my collection;
Filed off any mold lines I could see that I had missed previously;
Drilled out all the gun barrels;
Took them outside and sprayed them;
Sprayed them again to get at the bits I missed the first time;
Painted the base coat on them. (note that I dont have an airbrush).

So I now have 57 miniatures ready for the real painting to begin tomorrow.
Not bad for 1 days work. :D

Kudos to Ash and Prim for a productive day.

I had a 12 hour workday but managed to squeeze in several painting breaks, finally painting the heads and faces of three thunderwolf cavalry riders and one lord.

Next up: assembly of some 40k vehicles for the Showdown at Ogaki Corral. Also on the bench: Wood Elf eternal guard for Orctoberfest and a few things for Nick.
