Thanks, that is a super useful website!

(Facial hair, naturally, isn't going to make much difference at 6mm :P, but the broad difference between furry-hat-with-tassels and black-hat-with-white-trim, plus white versus facing color for the collars and cuffs, will be noticeable. The Baccus line only has Heavy and Light Dragoons and Hussars, and the difference between the latter two is pret-ty hard to see at the scale.)

Edit: Finished up the uniforms on both the light and heavy dragoons this evening; just have to do their swords and guns (and other metallic odds and ends like the shields on the hvy dragoon's helmets and such), and the tackle on the horses, and they'll be ready to base up.

Today I finished reading the Osprey Essential History book on the French-Indian War. I also started on the M2e (Malifaux 2nd edition) rules. Looks like there are a lot of changes, particularly to the way soulstones are used and to how you decide strategies and schemes. Still looks like fun though.

Painting wise, I have been busy working on fulfilling my New Year's resolution. I haven't hit 500 models yet, but I should have some photos to put up tonight if I can avoid playing games on my PC long enough to finish things off.

Coincidentally, an Osprey book I ordered about the Highlander in the French Indian War arrived today. Another more general history from them should arrive tomorrow.
Almost finished 10 Justice Department and Brit Cit Judges for Judge Dredd, trying the restrict the palette to muted, dirty colours rather than the intensely bright shades seen in some of the strips. Juve Gang next, but I aim to make them as garish and day-glo as possible.

Today I finished off some Zulus, 51 of them to be precise. I started them on Dec 29th, so it took me just over 2 weeks to get them from a sprayed on undercoat to what you see here.

So, that's me 10% of my way towards my target of 500 minis for the year. Of course, Zulus are pretty easy, so I wont get through everything this fast. It does feel good though. :D
(Some of the glue holding the tall grass in place isn't dry yet).

How many thousands more do you need for Rorke's Drift? :D (Seriously, nice work as always.)

I did a bit of painting (finished the bases on the dragoons, and just about finished a unit of orcs for Battle of the Five Armies), but mostly managed to get ahead of myself and start thinking about planning my next big project, which I'll start when the Dropzone and Black Powder targets are hit, later this year if all goes well. The question is, do I want to do North Africa 1941, Romans vs Germans, Greeks vs Persians, or Saxons vs Normans? (Yes, I recently "acquired" a copy of Warmaster Ancients, to add to my growing roster of Warmaster-based games - North Africa would use Blitzkrieg Commander, I think.)

In 28mm? Romans Vs. Germans as I already have Romans, you'd only need one army. :D
In 6mm? I'd happily play any of the above, but Greeks Vs. Persians would get my vote.

6, for the "get two big armies for about $100" factor, heh. Though who knows, I may be swayed by 28mm yet. :D

The "not marines " are from Ion Age by Alternative Armies. Very nice range that I've often been tempted by.
