I expect there will be rather more TV watching in my immediate future. If this entails more Sherlock, or even Downton Abbey, then that's fine. Good, even. If it entails lots of J-telly...not so much...

Thirty, so far. I doubt that will continue. :)

@AGP - Those are some very nice looking IG. The commissar is a nice touch.

@AGP Huzzah! Praetorians are cool. I bet they are a pretty penny on e-bay.
I think Victoria Lamb minis makes some not-Praetorians, come to think of it.

@agp - nice IG! That's how they should be - all brightly coloured and easy to hit on the battlefield :D

Well, the moratorium on painting was short lived. Seems that the missus was doing a bit of soul searching today and has decided that perhaps it's ok if I paint a bit after all. So, a smidge of corsair captain assembly was done today. Not much, but enough to get him finished. Next chance I get I'm going to build a hood for my a/b extractor (still not used it, despite being moved in for 4months) and the maybe at the end of the week, some actual honest-ter-goodness painting might get done. Best not count my chickens, tho...

I finished 5 more minis for Dredd, I originally planned to have 10 juves and punks for a street gang faction done by yesterday, but the best laid plans of mice and Lovejoys do oft go astray, or something. Still, the other 5 are half done. May post a small pic when I have the lot squared away.
Finally managed to get to the end of the 2nd Song of Fire and Ice. I stopped and started a great deal, because they can be long and discursive reads. For every rip-roaring or climactic page-turny bit, there is an indulgent bit which adds nothing much and really needed editing out. Still, I want ideally to have all the published books finished before the new Game of Thrones season is online, so, onto number 3..
In real life, the replacement for Lovejoy sensei bailed out at the last moment, leaving the school in a quandry. So, I agreed to save the day and recontract at my current work for another 5 months. Frankly, stability seems a good idea for the next few months given the new baby, so it was an easy decision. Co-workers are great, students are nice, money is alright, and I know the job. Still too much stress, and too many lessons to teach, but its only until summer (I tell myself).

@ AGP: Classic, beautiful.

@ Lovejoy: Book 2 was good as I recall, but I fear you've reached the pinnacle of the SoFaI series as of now. Still, the other 3 books are not terrible, but they meander an awful lot. Of course, a lot of epics do.

I worked on my cultists again, adding coats on top of the wash.

Yup. If you want to read page after page of detailed descriptions of mouse heads boiled in clam sauce or quail stuffed with cloves then Game of Thrones is the series for you. If food porn, incest and having every protaganist die in quick succession aren't things you usually look for in a book, then your time could be better spent elsewhere.
The books are very well written, but after reading five of them I can't be bothered to finish the series. I think I'm going to go back to reading David Gemmel. The storylines are a bit simpler, without the epic scope of GRR Martin's work, but I do prefer sword and sorcery to murder and cuisine.
