Yesterday I built an extractor hood for my airbrush. It mostly went according to plan, but I'm going to strengthen/seal it a bit more before I use it, cos I hope it'll last a good few years. Hopefully maybe get that done today. I may even manage a spot o painting. But, tis the lady wife's birthday tomorrow, so a certain amount of present shopping/cake making is required today. Plus, im at work, which is always a pisser :(

Painted some horses, but the base texture down on the next round of minis to get primed. Nothing too exciting, but it's something, at least.

Today was one of those days. Nothing really bad happened, but not enough sleep, too many things to do and packing an army case and terrain made it exceptionally frustrating all round. My hobby room has waaaayyy to much stuff in it and some of it has to go. My terrain will be given away/sold/thrown out after NagoyaHammer, but I need to downsize, so my High Elves and Vampire Counts for FB, my Nids, some marines and various odds and ends for 40K and my Khador for Warmachine all need to be gotten rid of along with the massive piles of bits, sprues and spares I seem to have lying around. :x

If anyone wants something they know that I have, please PM me and you will get first choice.

I received a couple of packages today whilst half dressed and cramming toast into my mouth . From warlord, received Britannia (Celtic Roman Boudicca Hail Caesar campaign book), Albion Triumphant Vol.1(Black Powder Peninsula War, Sharpe to blame for that purchase), and Last Argument of Kings, again for Black Powder. There was a warlord offer on, see.
All very interesting, just need the time to sit down with them. Britannia looks great especially, with its linked campaigns. Must get those Celts started. Free figs from AT and Last Argument were also enclosed, the latter was an FIW highlander, just the job for Muskets & Tomohawks. The Albion Triumphant ensign will necessitate starting a British Nap army down the line maybe. Maybe not.
After a brief look at them I rushed out to work and had a pretty stressful Saturday, as per. Shattered now. Have to turn in soon to get an early train tomorrow to the BP game.

I road in to yokkaichi to pay for hammercide it was my first big ride of the season.

Found out that there are not a lot of Nagoyahamerights join'n da Waagh...
Koodoz fer da plaerz dat are going. The last hamerside was really fun...so my

First thought is what a pity more of the regulars are not making an appearance, I was looking forward to playing you guys.

Second thought is why aren't more of people going to this event.

I stopped running events because I payed 10,000 yen for a gym with 10 ping pong tables in advance. I picked up some prizes and then wrote the game rules to be announced... And then no one joined it...

So I said never again.... Cause Ogaki is a bit far and out of the way.

I am not the sharpest tool in the box but most of us live around yokkaichi it is only a few stops from Tsu and some gamers even live in yokkaichi. It seems to me that it would be easy to make it to this event.... :?

Oh well I will have fun but it would have been more fun with a few more of you all.

@badruck - it's my wife's birthday tomorrow, and I was at work today. That, and the fact that i feel really bad for dumping the kids on her at any point. birthday or otherwise. She puts up with a screaming 4 month old who seems incapable of being quite without being held, at the same time as keeping the 2 yr old entertained, which involves a lot of running about and training the lad to not do things like stick his hand in a cup full of hot tea. For me to say "oh darling dear, I've only got one day off this week and I intend to spend it playing toy soldiers with my mates. Enjoy the kids. Toodlepip!" seems a bit shitty.

That, my good man, is why I haven't been gaming recently, and wont be for the near future, in Yokkaichi or anywhere else.

As for hammercide specifically, I kiinda get the idea of paying a fair whack of cash so's the winner gets a decent prize, but I'm not really down with jigging about with the rules of the game. I totally get that PV is the TO, and it's therefore entirely his call how he runs his events, but for me skillful (manipulative?) use of the game rules is a big part of what competitive wargaming is about (not to mention list building). 40k's rules do NOT lend themselves to this mindset, as a result of which I kinda feel actual proper competitive tourney 40k is a non-starter. I do wish PV and all his players the best of luck though. I get that my opinion is just my opinion, though. Many bows and respectful yoroshikus all round and stuff.

ps@ Prim - YOU'RE SELLING YOUR KHADOR! What the frickety frack? Who am I going to play Warmachine with now? NooooooOOOOOooooooOOOOooooo

I am interested in your bits sprues and spares, btw. Well, some of em. You got any elfy chariot thingies that might have use as the back end of a Corsair Venom, perchance? Or, if you have any kinda elfy bits that could be handy for Exodites, I'd like to express an interest, too. If you have any big unpainted (pref unconstructed) nid beasties I might be interested, too. I quite fancy painting a big display-level nid. I had my eye on that FW dribbly looking one (floaty thing. face full o tentacles) but if you had a similarly sized big greebly available I might be interested. Small niddy bits might be handy for base decoration, too (termagants, gaunts, etc...) Just kinda thinking out loud at this point, but anyhoo - I'm interested in details of what might be available.

You know it is all a matter of coincidence and luck, too. Anyway, it isn't everyone's cup of tea to try out experimental rules. But I'm heading down. Unfortunately I haven't gotten the money or list to PV yet.
