I played traveled to Yokkaichi today and played BP along with a little Wings of War. All of it was good gaming but the travel and warmth of the day has me a bit beat, so I don't think I'll do too much hobbying tonight. Maybe just to base up the cultists.

@ ToD: Nice stuff, but why did you have to do it so well and quickly? Now I feel I need to paint tonight :( :D

@ Ashmie: Best of luck with sorting things at home. Certainly your wife shouldn't be calling you names, but do your best to win points with her and gain the trust as dad. Maybe it will take being around the house more than usual to make up for some of the lost time last summer. Taking Lovejoy's advice might not be bad, but I hope you can work your hobbies into your future life alongside your role as family man. :)

Today was my wife's birthday, so I made a strawberry cream sponge cake and roasted a chicken for dinner. I also spent a lot of time with the boys so she could get out and enjoy the garden (she's been quite into gardening recently). Some time was also spent chatting with ash, who will no doubt keep y'all updated as to how he's doing, but for what it's worth, I reckon he's going about things the right way, and stuff should sort itself out. At the end of the day I found time to paint a whole passel of bases black, cos the spray undercoat had completely failed to get into all the nooks and crannies. Tomorrow: airbrush time.

That's the weirdest, and simultaneously the most GW-ish, detail about those boards.
The best thing, you mean. :D

I just wanted to say a personal thank you to all you gentlemen who came through for me today. Ive received some excellent help and advice from all of you and feel rallied. Enough to cope and bring things to a practical and mature conclusion that benefits all family members. My choice is a simple one but a tough one. Stay and get my ass kicked day in day out, make a stand demanding change and compromise in the relationship, leave and dont expect custody but support my son financially and be there for him should he ever want to meet me. I have no illusions about gaining custody and probably wouldn't take it to court or anything. Our marriage and his birth are not UK registered. If I left I would leave without causing them further trouble. After all I love my wife more than she loves me right now and sometimes stepping away is the right thing to do if your very presence is causing her grief.
It's not all bad, I'm feeling positive about any changes I have to face. I'm making a stand for myself and for the benefit of my family.
Thanks again guys. I hope to have this cleared up soon. We are talking our way through a cooling off period.
I could buy an army from scratch to cheer myself up but I'll roll on my willpower first.
I've definitely cut back on my gaming but I don't feel I need to compromise the hobby and I have been spending a lot of time at helping out. I can see why people spend every waking hour at work now and smoke themselves silly. Home life is not relaxing here.
That's a largely negative thing to say and I don't mean it entirely but recently I have been giving a sigh of relief when I reach my office each day. My haven.
Works going very well incidentally and I'm enjoying it.
Forget about yesterday, don't worry about tomorrow because all that matters is today.

Painted the coats on a bunch of dragoons, and once again probably got ahead of myself and started getting the next batch of minis (the last of the DZC stuff, 2 bases of line infantry, a unit each of dwarfs and trolls) ready for priming even though I've barely started this lot (still to go after the dragoons: 4 cannons and crew, 2 bases of light dragoons, 1 unit each of elves and goblins).

No time for hobbies. A day of chores today, tidied the apartment and cleaned thoroughly, vacuuming, etc, laundry, went to supermarket so that I have something to eat, cooked some nabe, got rid of all the trash, assembled a baby bed. The day has mostly evaporated on mindless but necessary jobs, but I managed to watch a couple of episodes of the classic 1979 Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy series with Alec Guinness, as well as some of Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer's new comedy, House of Fools on youtube. Talk about from the sublime to the ridiculous.

today I put down a couple more coats on my corsair bases. Not very exciting, but one of those necessary chores. It's been ages since I airbrushed, and had forgotten what a pita it was to clean teh dang thing. Anyway - onwards and upwards...
