I assembled the remainder of my british and polish paratroopers for Nagoya Hammer, and used a metal brush to bring out the shine in the all of the minis in readiness to be primed! About 2 months to go - it is going to be a painting marathon! Like Hercules I shall go the distance! :D

@ Konrad: Those are great looking models. Wonderful beards.

@ Kojibear + Spevna: Keep it coming! Two months!

Today I went down to Yokkaichi for Hammercide II. It was a lot of fun. The first game, Black Crusade mission, with Rob went to Rob 7-3. Lots of shooting and cycling units.

The second game, a Night Fight mission, was a tie. I played with a member of the Japanese Yokkaichi crowd and it was a huge blast. Things went wacky on all sides, highlighted for me when my Teminator Librarian, lone survivor of his Teminator squad, instant killed an Eldar Wraithknight with his force weapon. The other memorable moment was the final take down of a farseer by the surviving cultists.

And I somehow managed to squeeze 2 points (total, Badruck won the event and I think Prim came in 3rd or 4th) and walk off with 5th place and a small prize! :D

Tonight I will work on some Germans.

@Job- nothing warms my heart like Eldar dying ingloriously. You are the winner in my book.
@Lovejoy-I have been thinking about Dredd Terrain too. I just need this to get started. http://store.nixonfoundation.org/produc ... xon-6-bust

Yesterday I went to Yokkaichi to take part in PV's event. I hadn't planned on going, but after Badruck told me that the reason for the shenanigans a while back was because all of the Japanese players in Yokkaichi had dropped out of the event, I figured that I should make an effort to help out. As it transpired, there were 4 Japanese players there on the day. I was kind of hoping that something might have been said regarding the forementioned shenanigans, but sadly not.

PV laid on a great lunch and provided all the terrain for 5 tables, as well as a ton of special rules involving rampaging dinosaurs, monsters randomly attacking units, vortex missiles being launched at other tables and random events taking place every single turn. Largely I and my opponents ignored them as there was a lot to take in as well as getting on with the business of playing the actual game at hand.

I managed a narrow victory against the Underdweller, mainly because her Hive Tyrant failed a 6" charge into my last scoring unit. I then lost against a Nob Biker list. This was my first time playing proper games with the new Dark Angels codex. Aside from rolling pitiful saves with my terminators, I can't really pick a fault with them. Now I should start getting them painted up.

After returning home last night, I stripped the paint from a dozen or so metal marines and guards that have been sat in Simple Green for ages. Most of it came right off, but there were a few which needed a bit of work.
