I have a few remind me to bring them to Ogaki.job wrote:@ Prim: Nice work on the 'MeriKans. Those Nebraska boys look like they are ready to kick kraut butt.
Today I worked on my dwarf flyers again for about an hour or so. I was really sleepy while painting but managed some progress.
BTW, does anyone have any extra 28mm BA bases? I'm looking for at least one more and wishing for 4 more.

Re: What did you do today.
I blew through my eBay proceeds on terrain and a new mat. Whee!
Re: The Hobbit - I liked it well enough taken on its own merits as a movie, rather than anything having anything to do with the book. Better than the first one by far, and only a couple moments where I went "WTF, Peter Jackson, really?" (Terribly-CG-animated river of molten gold, I'm looking at you.)
I hadn't noticed while watching Lost, though, just how big Evangeline Lily's teeth are.

I'm in agreement with Job and Konrad on the Desolation of Tolkien. The worst film I have ever seen. It took me two attempts to watch it after walking out of the cinema in the first hour and going back two weeks later once I'd finished walking around Carcosa in the interim.
As an adaption and as a film in its own right it's a painful experience. The second viewing I was over the shock and hyped up on popcorn so I managed to enjoy it but it still gets a big fat 0 from me.
I'm hoping third times a charm as I loved all the other films.

Forget about yesterday, don't worry about tomorrow because all that matters is today.

Re: What did you do today.
Today I didnt do any painting, but I did spend quite a lot of the evening working on a glyph for my corsairs. It's been something I've been tinkering with for a while, and have finally come up with something. What do folks think of this?

The problem is, I haven't quite settled on a name for my corsairs yet, and until I do it's kinda hard to give them an identity. The one bit I'm fairly certain of is that they'll be
"the starfall (somethingsomethings)"
hence the stylised falling star in the glyph. I was basically looking for something that I can put on the front of jetbike carapaces and the side of tanks, mostly by means of printable transfers.
Is the glyph not eldary enough? I'm unsure, but having spent most of the evening on it I'd quite like to use it...
Bear in mind that craftworld glyphs are pretty varied (consider the sword of Alaitoc and the torii of Iyanden), as well as the more rune-y aspect symbols. Dark Eldar glyphs are all pointy curves and spikes. This, I feel, is kind of in-between. Maybe...
So, what say you, gentlefolk of Naghammer? Should I go ahead and print up a bunch of em?
ps this is how I figure it working in colour

@M_i_J - If you're happy with it, then go for it.
Today I started assembling a 1/48 scale Puma kit. It's made by Italeri and they have used a much softer plastic than the stuff Tamiya make their models from. It's a lot easier to file smooth, but also easier to damage when removing parts from the sprue.

If it's going on a Jetbike carapace, I'd suggest making the top of that image the front - or making the angle of the front "horns" more acute.me_in_japan wrote:Today I didnt do any painting, but I did spend quite a lot of the evening working on a glyph for my corsairs. Mysef, I'd consider making that central dot more interesting. Perhaps it could be an indificual glyph for each unit and character?
