Went back recently and dipped this unit of what were rather chalky looking veterans. Now they are super shaded. Just need to tidy up the bases and helmets.
Super!

You guessed it, they didn't go on e bay so Im putting them in my 6th ed redux ultramarine force.
The Emperor protects. Just a couple of units left now. I'll put an army photo up soon.
Forget about yesterday, don't worry about tomorrow because all that matters is today.

@ash - way mucho better. Love the scarring on the sarge.

@kbear - I'm gonna try green. Thanks for the kind words about the gem. Gems are one thing I can do. Painting eldar for twenty-odd years will do that to ya...

@ash - oh, one thing - id recommend painting the edge of their bases in either black or dark brown. The current somewhat uneven shade is distracting, and makes them look unfinished, when theyre actually rather nicely done. The citadel foundation paints are particularly good for this.

OK, progress on Lion-o

I redid the spanglies as twinklies. I prefer it, although I still think something's not right. I'm prepared to leave it as-is for now, though, and come back and change it if needed later. Its interesting to note that painting all those gems was actually about twice as fast as painting them all metallic. Im either a slow metal painter or a fast gem painter... :?

No, I've had them for years, ever since Gangs of Mega-City 1 was released. The middle and right-hand Street Judges are unavailable now, but the other four are still soldiering on.

Dave, the gem effect looks better than the copper, but the green looks odd to me; I'd have gone with a highlight to something like Bilious Green instead of white.

There's no white on this model. The light spots (top left) on the gems are ivory. The lower right is gretchin green. Base colour is gnarloc green.

What are they in real colours? I've not kept up with these new-fangled names :) Anyway, the gems look a bit too muted for my liking.

Just finished this lot:

I don't know which is better. The only thing I could think to do was google search Jade and see what they looked like.
That Lion would be revered by the Maori back home in NZ. Just look at all that Jade Green Stone! Looks vera nice. I think that light shining on Jade would end up white/ivory, right? Like this I found on google:

FYI the NZ Prime Minister came to Japan recently. He didn't get much TV or Media news time though :( He visited the disaster areas and talked to Japan about joining the TTP talks. He also gifted Japan with a huge greenstone carving called a 'Pounamu'. :D

@MIJ: I think the green gems on the grey shields (or whatever they are) look great. However, I would have kept the little crescent discs and the sword hilts made of metal instead of gemstone.
