I wish I could take credit, but I found the design somewhere on google. Get some cotton batting and tear off a chunk (this is like a bigger, thicker cotton ball). Glue it to an LED candle light. Trim off excess cotton to get the desired shape. Spraypaint black. Everything was available at the local 100 yen shop.

I was a little busy yesterday, so not much progress on the painting front. I got a wash down on my SS and my Napoleonic British, but that was pretty much it.

@Dekana- That smoke is pure awesome. Most, most inspiring. Especially the "Everything is at the 100 shop." part.
My frugal terrain project is looking like this so far......
Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached.
oops
Let's try this

The press mold bits are from my initial experimentation with oyumaru. I wasn't careful or anything. Just slapped in on and pressed. Rolled some milliput in there once it was cool. Easy peasy. Cheap as chips. Good enough for scrap metal bitz. With some care and proper preparation, you could make some pretty nice stuff.

Re: What did you do today.
I had hoped to use a good evening of free time yesterday for painting, but it wasn't to be. I was running a fever whilst teaching my 2 part-time gigs, battled through feeling very ropey and went to bed as soon as I could with no dinner (aww). Feel a tad better, I can work again today, besides,I want to be paid.
