A perfect time to go to the Post office :P
Ahohoho

Actually, thanks to my ever-helpful wife, the minis are in the post and winging their way towards Kobe as you read this. If you're really lucky, they may even arrive this evening (stranger things have happened - I once posted something at 9pm in Tsu and my buddy got it the next morning in Nagoya.) Failing that, you should see em tomorrow :) Many apologies for taking such a long time to send them.

Most of my hobby stuff has been packed away, but this morning I found a file and some old IG lying about so I scraped off a few mold lines. Woo.

Finished my first week (well, 3 days) at my new job. A lot to remember, which class and year takes which particular book, where in the labyrinthine school I will find my class, how to decipher the schedule from 4 or 5 seperate pieces of paper..I could go on, but am getting used to it, and think I'll do alright.
So, no hobby to report. Hopefully a couple of Dredd minis tomorrow, then on to some test minis for WotR!

Unfortunately my fever a few days ago was only the start. I developed a runny nose last night and it has continued in full force since then. A runny nose is literally one of the things I hate the most of anything, anywhere, EVER, so this has been a been a rather terrible day. :( Thankfully I haven't started bleeding from any orifices yet, so I'm cautiously optimistic that I'll pull through.

I spent most of the day reading Dan Abnett's Double Eagle, which is basically the Battle of Britain IN 40K, but I enjoyed it. I think I want to pick up For the Emperor next, since I finished the first of Gaunt's books awhile back and thought I'd see how Ciaphas Cain compares. And I watched a few episodes of Mayday, an airplane crash investigation series, I guess because of my morbid mood today.

Ciaphas Cain, IMHO, is a lot of fun. Good luck with the continuing assembly. If you do start bleeding from any orifices, I'd like to call first dibs on your ladies (after they are dunked in tons of disinfectant of course).

Last night I put in 20 minutes of painting time before bed and tonight I plan to do the the same starting now.

Last night, painted some Dredd stuff- finished Colonel Mustard, and made 4 others table ready, including a sidekick for Mustard and enough for 500 creds of Judge Cal's SJS. The kleggs are a blast to paint!

Started work on some very small dwarves - the base metallic coat. Over the next couple days I'll try and wrap them up.

I've been putting off doing base decoration on the elves and horsemen I've done, 'cause it's an onerous task. I'll probably do them all when I finish up the dwarves.
Feel free to call me Dave!

Went to fort Spevna and played a mighty enjoyable couple of games of judge Dredd whilst quaffing some ale. Despite only 3 of the originally planned 6 folks showing up (all legit reasons, mind you) it was a fun day of gaming indeed. Many thanks to spev and lovejoy :)

Highlight of the game: my leader (Raven) tazers one of spev's gangers at pretty much point blank range. While he lies twitching helplessly on te ground, Gladys (the angry one) charges in to dispatch him with her katana.

Spev's ganger then whips out a freakin chainsaw (!) which Gladys proceeds to land upon. In the post-game sequence further dice were rolled, and it was determined that, sadly, poor Gladys' injuries had gotten the best of her and that she was, in fact, dead.

That's what landing on a chainsaw will do to ya, I suppose...

Thanks from me too to Spevna and MiJ for making today a memorable one! First gaming of 2015...I think I'll feel a bit delicate tomorrow, what with the ale quaffed.. We managed 2 Dredd games, and I finally have a solid little Justice Dept gang off the ground after judgement was served on various unruly perps. Although there were no winners and losers as such - we played each game until one of the three gangs was out of commission- for a change I did ok, and was able to level up all my Judges and recruit a new Med Judge. Sniper Judge Calthorp was my star player today, he earned 11 XP all on his own and acquitted himself well against the raggedy scummers (true, two of his colleagues narrowly avoided death, but we won't mention that). Many thanks again, gentlemen!
