Got in three games of Dredd yesterday.
Me and Rich played through the Cursed Earth Desperadoes scenarios.
Here are some pics from the day.

My mutant bounty hunters and my mate's Citi Def went head to head on a scrap raid.

My muties were on a rooftop about to grab some scrap.....

Image

But the Citi Def had already got them in their sights!

Image

Heavy Spit guns make short work of muties :(

After taking a bit of a drubbing, the last man standing decided to bugger off, but not before giving them a piece of his mind!

Image

The next game was a raid on a mutie compound.

Image

The Citi Def snuck into position;

My muties tried to get a few shots into them from behind the safety of their walls, but didn't achieve much. Mr Heavy Spit Gun managed to saunter up to a gap in the wall and unload into my muties face :(

Image

The Citi Def medic managed to sneak into the fort, and as he suffers from Futsie I decided to close him down fast!

Image

He legged it, I gave chase, but he was too fast for me!

Image

Image

Eventually, the Citi Def got the higher ground and I gave in.

The third scenario was the Citi Def trying to leg it through Cursed Earth, with my Muties coming on from the sides to attack them if they could pass a will check.

Image

They got about a third of the way down the board before my guys pounced!

Image

My cleaver carrying mutie made short work of them......aided by the Futsie a Medic :) I rolled off against my mate, got control of him, and managed to take out two one of his guys!

All in all, a great day of fighting.

The table is 6' by 4'6 with enough space for even someone of my stature to mlve around it without needing to squeeze past things. A definite step up from my last place. After reading some online advice, I built the table up to a little over 3' tall, about the height of a kitchen worktop. It's easier on the back and better for standing at for a long time.
w00t! Got any pics?

Thanks.
Yes, I spent yesterday exterminating a xenos infestation of Pikey's Purple Eldar and on Saturday Colonel Voss and I both led to British army to ruin against a Zulu horde. (We played the same mission twice, switching armies on the second try).

Having the table set higher than the standard meeting room height is actually pretty good, I spent both days playing without the usual back ache I get from 1 day at Joshin. However, the lighting in the room is somewhat inadequate as the centre of the table isn't well lit.

Thank you Spevna for a splendid day of gaming. I had a great time. Looks the absolute business in the photos.

Just to supplement the great battle report a couple of posts above - the three games we played saw my Malcolm Tierney Block Citi-Def on a training exercise in the irradiated wastes of the Cursed Earth. Spev’s mishappen mutie brigands were defending their turf and would try to ensure a welcome befitting their foul badland home!

The muties were all based on the same concept of being a)profoundly deformed and ugly, and b)hard as nails, and so had great hit stats and were a bit tasty in hand-to-hand combat. They also seemed to like their rusty blunderbusses. My weekend warriors were all about shooting things with proper guns.

I can't go over my opponent's force in any detail, but my Tierney blockers started out with Sergeant Andy McShane, hard-nut commando, feckless tubber Col. Felsham and Pvt. Jesus Montalban, heavy spit gunner. Citi-def medic Dr. Krippen joined in the second scenario. “Why not make him a futsie?” said my host. Why not indeed, eh? And so, Krippen suffered from “future shock syndrome”, which made him a handful in a fight. Unfortunately, he was wont to attack his own team mates from time to time, and proved downright unusable and of no value in his intended role as medical practitioner. He was a laugh however, whenever he tried to knife his chums. In the final game dual spit pistol Pvt. Parton added her twin assets to the proceedings. Phwoar.

The Tierney blockers did pretty well, getting the most bits of scrap in the first mission and securing the compound in the second. The third saw the citi-def trying to reach the safety of Mega City one by leaving the board – this mission allowed Spev’s close combat specialists to finally get close in and they gave my force a right drubbing. Col. Felsham quickly succumbed to a mutie cleaver for the second time that day. Krippen attacked Parton, removing her from the board. Andy McShane decided to run for it (cue Benny Hill theme tune "Yakkety Sax") and was the only one to escape, nursing his bullet wounds from the ensuing turkey shoot and limping home Bravo Two Zero style. Krippen had gone loopy.

Still, medals all round! Looking forward to expanding them in future, they were a lot of fun to play.

Got my last owned-but-not-painted unit of Scourge (AA tanks and their dropship) nearly done, to be followed by some PHR infantry and their dropship. I have the PHR AA walkers and their dropship to do, but realized I don't have enough magnets to do 'em up, so they'll be waiting until I get a chance to drop by Joshin and replenish my Tiny Magnet Supply. I'll think about picking up an N-scale building or two while I'm there to allow me to start phasing out the nice-enough-but-rather-flimsy card buildings from the starter set. I picked up the building below last Joshin day for a couple thousand yen as a proof-of-scale test, and it does indeed seem to check out, so I think N-scale model railroad buildings are going to be the way to go. Lots cheaper than 4Ground, at any rate.

Image

Its rather-small footprint means it'll be a low-damage deathtrap for any infantry in it, but what the hey. I just have to decide to really doll it up with the Japanese-language signage decals it came with, or leave it plain as it is.

Dredd is looking pretty great! Nothing like an awesome board and great minis to make a game come to life.
Feel free to call me Dave!

Was a fun bit of gaming mate.
The Futsie guy got himself some great upgrades, unfortunately they came at expense of your own men at times ;)
The muties were armed with various sharpened cooking implements and pistols, with a couple carrying rifles and shotguns for some close up work.

Like Lovejoy said, pretty tasty in close combat but totally pants at shooting.

Spent the evening filling out university paperwork, then squeezed in a wee bit skyrim at the end. Failed to drag myself away in time, and now it's 12:40 and I've got work in the morning. Drat it all

Is it just me but does anyone else with family get that 4 o clock urge to paint and then by the time you get home, do the dishes and baths and everyone is in bed it's gone 10 and the last thing you can do is pick up a brush? I'm thinking early morning might be the answer :)

Nice terrain guys.
Also, great mancave Prim. That must feel good finally to have a hobby space.
