Basic painting on my mechs done. All that's left is some camouflage lines and cockpit glass. Must start on Eldar but I cannot!

Finally received my scibor miniature and it will become my Primarch, Siddhartha in the armor gifted to him by the emperor.
The miniature comes with a wicked axe but my Buddhist primarch only uses a (force) pole. Added some exhausts to the back to
make it look that the power plant is merged into the suit.

And Another addition to my Gothic "fleet" from Yamato 2199, not yet sure how to paint it yet

Still tired. I dislike this whole "work" concept. It's poop :evil:

Random thought: I watched "Big Hero 6" on the plane. That was a damn fine movie. Way better than expected. Watching that led me on to listen to Fall Out Boy (they do the song at the end). Some damn catchy songs. "Immortals" is particularly earwormy, but so far all their stuff I've heard kinda squinches into your brain and Will Not Die...

@Primarch

Cheers!

@mij

I've always fancied Vancouver. Good quality of life, near the U.S. but not actually in it, Mountains, Forests, high concentration of Asian women. Rain, I am used to. Overall, sounds cool 8-)

Hope you get back in to the swing of things quickly in Mie :)

Today I had some time to kill in Nagoya so I went to Joshin.
Sigh..... now I am lugging around 4 new Tamiya kits, despite having about 30 to build at home.
I also got some of Tamiya's new weathering pencils.

After I got home this evening, I grabbed a can of Sapporo's finest, put on some tunes by the Stereophonics and got to work with a little kit-bashing.

Using a couple of recent Tamiya kits, I took a Universal Carrier MkII
Image
And built a Fahrgestell Bren (lit. a conversion using a Bren carrier as the chassis)
Image
And here is my completed work, a 3,7 cm PaK 36 auf Selbstfahrlafette Bren(e)
Image
I have left the gun shield off for the time being as it adds a lot of height to the mini and I'm not sure if it will be possible to fit it in the mini case if I attach it.

The gun is a PaK 36, Light AT gun, which quickly became obsolete once the war was underway. After the fall of Dunkirk, the Germans captured a lot of British equipment, including lots of universal carriers. Since they didn't want to waste good vehicles, they repainted them and started using them for all sorts of purposes. Several were modified or rebuilt to carry German weapons, including the aforementioned PaK 36. Due to the low power of the gun and the lack of any real armour to protect the crew, the vehicles were usually relegated to patrol duties in France or as training vehicles for rookie crews, as all of the real tanks were being shipped east to fight the Russians.

In game terms, I intend to use it in Bolt Action as a stand in for an Sd.Kfz 250/10, a Recce half track with a PaK 36 mounted on top. The 250 has the same stats as the Bren anyway, though the Bren will lose it's 'Turn on the Spot' rule. This will be added to my German force as an inexperienced armoured car selection for my Russian Liberation Army/Normandy Beach Defence Force, since no front line unit would have used it. :D

Those little Universal carriers are so handy for kitbashing. I had one konverted into a Gorkamorka Trakk back in the day.

I've been finishing off those Greenstealaz and sculpting crew figures for a secret project. Not sure if I'll try and finish them, or start making more Squats. Decisions, decisions.....

I got a unit of AA walkers and their transport all magnetized - hopefully will get them primed up tonight, if the weather holds.
