@ Prim

Sure, I know. Sadly from May I'm not planning on painting anything bigtime project wise so that was why I wanted the Empire done and dusted before then. No deadline really apart from one I decided on. I hopefully will still have time for the odd battle once in a while with whomever might be up for it but nothing on the scale of gaming I've been doing these past few years.

@Everyone who has had the fortune or misfortune to game with me over the past few years

This weekend will be a bit of a last huzzah for me on the wargaming front at least for the foreseeable future. It's been great fun these last 6 or 7 years since I got back into it but everything runs it's natural course I guess. :)
The idea about starting a painting company was really meant as a collective thing if people are interested, never meant for it to be just me in a shed working and wouldn't want it to be. I guess it seems it's a hassle for most so it will stay as a pipe dream for now. :)
I want to concentrate on other hobbies too like writing and radio comedy so will put my creative steam that way from here in I think. Please pm me if this is anyone's cup of tea, I need voice actors as well as writers. Thanks again to everyone I've gamed with over the last few years, it's been an adventure and a half. See you next week at Joshin or at Tsu rpg the week after.

Sayonara mon amis. :D :D :D
Peace, respect and good tidings may you are roll high, or low if needed. ;)

I don't write yourself off yet! We've got other parents here with babies and they manage! Talk to them about how to balance things.

Otherwise, we might miss you too much and kidnap you out of your home every year just before Golden Week. :D

@Ashmie - If the only way for you to stay in the hobby is to make money out of it, check out miniwargaming how to make money from your hobby series! :)

http://www.miniwargaming.com/show/makin ... your-hobby - maybe something useful here.

How about your plans for your Empire?

Radio show sounds interesting :D What are your plans?

Thanks guys, hopefully I will have time for the odd game once in a blue moon. No, that is not my intention to only stay in the hobby if I can make money from it. I was more interested in a group collaboration or project as I have stressed before, like with the painting group we got going last December. Or an idea to merge Nagoyahammer and the Tsu rpg event into one even bigger event. Advertising all over Japan with many gaming groups. I think the idea to visit Kyushu which Mike suggested recently is a good one.
The last few years I have gamed two, sometimes three times a month, so with a new baby this wont be something I'll be doing. I've got my rpg group once a month so I will try and stick with that if possible.
It's also a good chance to catch up on all those models I have left unpainted. I'll be on the painting blog if nothing else. :)
Me and some friends from back home have variuos unrecorded scripts and plays we want to turn into radio so I am hoping to get a podcast going. You guys will be the first to know when the first show is done and if you want to contribute as writers or voice actors that would be a lot of help. It will be a non profit project so all part time and for the love of recording. I'm thinking old style radio programming like the Atlanta Radio Theatre Company and HPLHS productions. They make some great stuff.
:D :D

don't give up on the gaming, Ash! If you do, I'll be all alone down here in Tsu. Actually, I was kinda hoping you and I could work some kinda alternate hosting system, whereby if either of us gets a day off dadding we could game at each other's houses, thereby allowing the other to do the dad thing, and at the same time not be too far away from home if something did come up. I reckon thatd be doable once a month, as the fancy took us. Not at first, I'd imagine, though - gotta get settled in first. Sean and Kaz are home today for the first time, btw. He's been home a whole...oooh, 20 minutes, and hasnt cried yet. Lookng good... :?

I guess we can move this to the "Daddy can I play?" Thread...
I remember the days I would stay up all night with the baby... Nirobi was a year old and and Kenya was around 2 and a half when I got into the hobby. So I do not know what a little baby will be like hobby wise .... but to be honest miki did most of the work... she would hardly let me do anything she always wanted me to bath the kids and of course there were all the dippers to change... I guess it should be stated that I will be in the same boat as you all once July comes around.... thats right Mrs. Badruk is having a Badruk Jr. Does this mean Badruck will slow down on the gaming front? most likely not. I am gearing up for events and heaps of fun. It has not really set in yet but I am very excited to have a boy. don't get me wrong the girls are fun but some snakes and snails and puppy dog tails to go along with are the sugar and spice and everything nice is going to be fun...

dude - youre having a boy? Congrats, man :D That's you, me and Ash all with wee laddies. You gotta make sure his big sisters don't beat him up, mind you. I've heard that happens :D (not that I'd know myself - I'm the eldest of 4. The wife, otoh...)

Sorry I thought I had replied to this but I must not have posted it.

@MIJ Sure, I'll be here for the odd battle but as I said completely slowing things down on the gaming front. I'll try to rpg once a month at the very least. By all means take over with the Tsu events. Centre Palace have good rates for big events and your gaff is ideal. I think Leslie is keen to get organising an rpg event for Summer also.
It's more of a decision I've reached for myself rather than having kids is stopping me outright. I've done a lot of gaming in the past two years, all of it fun, but I kind of hit burnout sometime last year. I definitely reckon less is more. I want to take my time with the painting and enjoy the battles all the more.
Definitely not swearing myself off gaming altogether, not with Andrew Gloy on my back. :) That reminds me got another 10 Prussians to do tonight. Gotta go lads.

@ Admiral. Congratulations sir! Great news. :D :D :D
