Re: What did you do today.
Got the basic color test done for my 28mm Germans.

Really I just have to finish up the rifle and the skin, throw some flock and static grass on the base and it's a good 'un*. Quick, easy, and it'll look fine on the table.
*OK, I might do some basic highlighting on the feldgrau, just to make it pop a bit. Don't want to green it up too much though (it actually looks a good bit greener in real life), while on the other hand highlighting with a gray-er tone might make it too dull. Bother.
Edit:

Yeah, that's much better.

@ToD - Looking good, now do 30 or so more like that.
As well as getting those sengoku civilians done today, I managed to assemble the hull of a Marder III-M and did a little more painting on my secret project.

Earlier today I sprayed the Traitor Guard and this evening I spent a couple hours working in them.

Haha. Exactly. I think I could do a half-squad up to that standard in an evening or so if I buckled down, though, so it may not take too stupidly long.Primarch wrote:@ToD - Looking good, now do 30 or so more like that.

Got in a bit of painting. Started touching up some old, old RT pirates to run as Veteran Guardsmen. Some old Bob Olley sculpts most of them I think.
Also got one of those Reaper Bones figs half done, this one

I think she'll be my Command Squads Vox, she has a head phone set.
The Bones stuff works for stuff like big monsters with sharp scales and clean detail, but for little, delicate things, not so much. Mine does not look anywhere near as good as the metal one in the pic. Had to sculpt a chin on her, as it was missing. Cleaning flash and mold lines is a pain. You can't scrape them off, too soft. You have to trim them off with a brand-new blade and try not to cut into the figure itself too much. But since the fig cost about 50円 at Kickstarter prices, eh can't complain.

And as long as the boots come out OK, you're getting what you paid for with that mini.Konrad wrote:Got in a bit of painting. Started touching up some old, old RT pirates to run as Veteran Guardsmen. Some old Bob Olley sculpts most of them I think.

Re: What did you do today.
The stuff from the second kickstarter is a little better detail wise. I think they were still trying to figure things out with the first one. I have several figures that have ended up nose-less after going through the bonse-ifying procedure.

@Prim- I figured they were still working out the bugs. Glad to hear the next batch got better. Figures are so expensive, any cheaper option is worth looking at, especially if you just want stuff for the table top, not winning Crystal Brushes.
