What did you do today.
Re: What did you do today.
It was in my bits box, came with the Chaos Rhino sprue. In any case, I was thinking it fits with the 'good tank gone bad' theme. No good?

All of the Rhino and Land Raider frames come with Imperial insignia on the sprue. Chaos get an extra sprue in their sets to replace the standard issue imperial ones.

@ MikBall: Wonderful job. I love the weathering and great work getting lots of Chaos tidbits on it.

Re: What did you do today.
Yesterday morning I got some gaming in with Andy at McDonalds. We played a great game called Smash Up. Very easy and a lot of fun to play. It's a card game which is self contained and doesn't need a lot of extensions. There are however many extensions to collect. http://www.alderac.com/smashup
This and the Star Wars miniatures game are two of my favourites in recent years. Postponed our Call of Cthulhu game for next month because I had to work. We are playing the classic Masks of Nyarlathotep campaign. Nearly finished the London chapter. It's a lot of fun and has an Indy Jones feel about it due to the globetrotting pulp adventures the characters find themselves caught up in. Anyone is welcome to join for a cameo or regular sessions. Dave played recently as the ever vigilant dandy Laird Waverly Mcguiver, he chopped up a lizard lady as I recall. We usually play Friday nights from 9 until 12 or 1, monthly if we are lucky. It all depends on schedules.
Last night I listened to good music and drank a fair bit of wine. Haven't done that for ages. Very enjoyable. We might play Arkham horror on Sunday morning in Kuwana if anyone is up for it
Have a good weekend fellas.

Forget about yesterday, don't worry about tomorrow because all that matters is today.

Aaah... oops. Might be hard to rip it of now but perhaps it can be defaced suitably to appease the gods. I'll think of something.Primarch wrote:Just wondering.Mikball wrote:It was in my bits box, came with the Chaos Rhino sprue. In any case, I was thinking it fits with the 'good tank gone bad' theme. @Job & Spevna - Cheers guys. The back plate comes of and there's ammo storage inside too. Looking forward to getting it on the table.

Re: What did you do today.
@mikball - nice work on the tank. As folks have said, the weathering is a strong point. As for the Aquila, I reckon a defaced Aquila is better than no Aquila at all. Scratch over it with a knife, prise bits off, do some damage. Then paint it up to fit the rest of the mini (weathered and suchlike). It'll look good and rebellious then

2nd, or 3rd or 4th on that weathering. Looks good!me_in_japan wrote:@mikball - nice work on the tank. As folks have said, the weathering is a strong point. Deface that Aquilla! Drill some bullet holes! Cut some chips out of the tread guards! You can heat up a nail or other metal tool and use it to push dents into the hull. I sometimes have to take a deep breath and stop before I reduce my toys to wreckage.
That sucker is so big, you could slap some sponsons on it and call it an Ares!

@ MinJ & Konrad - Cheers guys, thanks for the ideas I'll give it a crack sometime this week. I did find another chaos sprue today with some nice things that might cover over the aquilla, but I'm a bit scared of damaging the hull if I try to remove it.me_in_japan wrote:@mikball - nice work on the tank. @Spevna - nice work with the speed painting. Is that an old Spes Mahreen mini?
