Re: What did you do today.
I remembered that painting white leather belts on 6mm dudes is something of a pain.

A pity I had to leave early.me_in_japan wrote:This evening finds me recently returned from what I can only describe as the perfect night out. In summary, myself and a number of mates that I haven't seen for ages (years in one case) went out on the town, ate a silly amount of food and drank a lot. Special mention should be made of the food - an all-you-can-eat Brazilian restaurant with 15 different cuts of meat*. There was even a mark sheet where you could tick off what you'd had. Every last one of them was awesome. Waiters and waitresses would come to your table bearing skewers of meat and say things like "have you tried the sirloin yet, gentlemen? You have? Would you like some more?"
Aaaaah. Bliss![]()
This was followed by a series of drinks (er, can't remember how many) and that kind of conversation you can only have with your long-time mates from school where you laugh so hard you start tearing up.
An awesome night.
*also the only restaurant I've ever been to where the salad bar had chicken wings and beef stew.
Still, a good meal, and not too much intestinal distress (so far ...)

Re: What did you do today.
This evening I went out for dinner (again - it's been an expensive week), this time for Chinese with the missus. A very nice meal once again, with particular mention going to the deep fried ice cream. Yes, that is a thing, and was actually pretty classy. The satay was also verra good.
All in all, this trip has been extraordinarily calorific. And expensive. But good
Also, in hobby related news, my Lynch crew arrived today. Nice minis, and quite varied in appearance (eg ladies in lingerie and huge great bug-eyed monsters. Also a big meaty lad in a waistcoat carrying a 2 x 4.) I'm looking forward to painting them.

Wow. And then Corona happened. Just....crickets, all the way through to 2023...

Sounds like my kind of place.

Re: What did you do today.
Just finished a day of playing Bolt Action and drinking beers. My Germans went undefeated against Komura's Italians, Yellowstreak's French and Pikey's Kiwis, so I am happy with that. At lunch we went out for beer and then again after the games. All in all, a great day of gaming.

I would love to play next time a big game like that is organised.Primarch wrote:Just finished a day of playing Bolt Action and drinking beers. Re: What did you do today.
Put the finishing touches on a unit of 72 6mm Brits that's been clogging up my painting queue for far too long. I love the scale, but I do think I'm ready to tackle some 28mm stuff.
Time to go back to modern-warfare browns and greens for a spell.
Feel free to call me Dave!

@Spev - Nice beakies.
Today I did some more work on my British infantry, undercoated some Zulus and some Lancastrians and built some terrain for Bolt Action. I could probably have got more done if I hadn't spent half the day in front of the PC.

Re: What did you do today.
Some great projects, games and summer vacation posts lads. Looks great. Spev you saw Prodigy, that's awesome! MiJ and Lovejoy made it to a convention, that's so cool. Also the Bolt Action day and the Rogue Trader games make my heart happy.
I've not had much time off and what time I have seems to be spent reading books, prattling about on you tube or arguing with family about house stuff.
It's not been a lot of fun to be honest and life is turning into a bit of an uphill struggle year by year. I know a lot of its down to positive outlook and attitude but I really feel I've been giving it my all and aren't getting the results I want from a 'happy' existence. Life can be hard in a foreign land, this is my tenth year here and I'm probably well overdue a holiday or some quality time with family. My wife is always too busy and I'm not ashamed to say never makes time for me. So I work, that's all I do.
Anyway logging in and seeing all the great stuff you guys have been up to makes me happy and gives me hope so I just wanted to say much love and thanks for sharing. I hope to get my hobby mojo back someday. It's got to get better, it can't get much worse. Cheers lads.

Forget about yesterday, don't worry about tomorrow because all that matters is today.
