Including glue and paint in the box is a good move too.
'Course, without a set of skirmish rules, it's still "here's a cheap entry point, but to actually play you'll still need to spend another couple hundred bucks, sorry!"

@MiJ - Bat Boy! Ripped from the pages of the tabloids. I like the look of the gem on the staff.

Re: What did you do today.
i reckon yon entry level boxes are a good idea. the lack of rules isnt really a problem, i think, because i reckon theyre not aimed at gamers. theyre painty kits, in the same way as airfix or tamiya. once a customer paints one (and sees the "go to geedubya.com for more info" flyer, theyll get drawn in. having entry level kits aimed purely at painters is consistent with their "we're a minis company not a games company" line, too.

Yaaaaawwwwnnnn! About time to wake from hibernation
Happy (extremely belated)new year everyone!
I have done precisely f*** all hobby wise this year, mainly because I'm a lazy git but also because it has been bloody cold and because I've been battling a kidney stone since the start of the month
Hopefully, I'll be back on the horse soon, there are more than a few projects and new arrivals waiting for some work....
6mm Napoleonics
IG for Nagoyahammer
Gladiators
Neverborn for Malifaux
Sov bloc judges
And the list goes on and on and on....
I've also sorted out a few bits and pieces to flog off on eBay. You 'orrible lot can have first dibs though. Anyone interested in 40K Eldar/Dark Eldar, Nurgle stuff? I'll post a full list in due course.

@pikey: welcome back, mate. Bummer about the kidney stone - hope it can be dealt within short order. Also, damn you and your Maiden announcements. Midweek is flat out muri for me, but having seen em before I can promise you you'll enjoy it. Do they have a new album anytime soon?
Also, maybe interested in dark eldar/nurglies. Whatcha got?

Last night I did prep for the Napoleonics on the workbench - which mostly means straightening out dozens and dozens of tiny bayonets. I'll probably do basing today and get them all primed in the next day or two.

Re: What did you do today.
I spent the last week or so working on some figs for Strange Aeons. The one on the left is for my Threshhold character, Agent Smith, and the one on the right can be her evil nemesis.
I had a bit of trouble on the evil lady's face. After trying to fix her once or twice I just decided to blame the sculpt. It's a nice miniature and I wouldn't mind stripping and repainting her in a few years.
I tried to put extra effort into these as they are centerpiece characters in a low-model count game, but I ended up mostly just doing block colors and trying to keep it neat.
Still need to attach one to her base and top coat both minis.
