What did you do today.
Re: What did you do today.
I built 5 Necron Immortals during my lunchbreak today. Last night I got some Russian infantry based and a handful of models stuck together.

purged the vile xenos from the face of Graia.
oh yuss indeedy. My copy of Space Marine has arrived.
Marvellous fun, it really is. Oodles of chopdakka. I've just started, really, and based off Jus' comments that it's a short game, I've decided to play it through first time on Hard difficulty to increase the longevity. So far, so good. Still on level one, but have purged a very enjoyable number of orkses and grots via the medium of bolter and chainsword.
It's temporary, I'm sure, but for now...

Simple Green. Simple Green. It's green. OOOOOoooooooooo hello simple green. You smell...GREEN! What a lovely green you're wearing, Simple Green.
Yup, I have yet again been simple greening space marines! Next batch is soaking in it. Hmm...Mike, that reminds me of a Palmolive dishwashing liquid commercial with an old lady. Maybe it's the Simple Green talking.

Well, it's 9:40 am and I have just primed about 100 models and taken the mold lines off a dozen or so resin models. Today looks to be a productive day.

Nothing today. Took a rest and thought about buying that new rpg game elder scrolls 5.
Prim, I have two units finished out of 4. I will do my best to get them all done for next week. It may be that a few are unpainted but hopefully not. Might have to up the anti to 12 a day instead of 6 at this rate.
I will be using two commanders, 3 units of infantry and one smaller unit of skirmishers.
They are on 40mm by 40mm bases with 4 models to a base as the book suggests. Hope this is OK?
How are you getting on with the rules? I'm halfway through the shooting section. It looks like the command rules and the movement rules will be the newest thing for us to learn war-games wise. There are some interesting rules about what targets a unit can see and fire at.

Forget about yesterday, don't worry about tomorrow because all that matters is today.

Re: What did you do today.
4 models on a 40 by 40 is what I used as well. I think my units are a little smaller than yours (24 models per unit), but that shouldnt matter too much. Try to get units of 24 finished up first and then do the other models afterwards. That gives you 72 models to paint for your main 3 units rather than 90, if that helps.ashmie wrote:Nothing today. I have read the book from cover to cover twice so far (several more times for the battle report sections) and I intend to do so again before we play. There'll still be some things that only become apparent from actually putting models on the table and rolling some dice though. It helps that the book is full of eye candy of the highest calibre.
The command/moving rules are really what the game is all about. Positioning your troops to gun down the enemy and mutually support each other seems to be the way to go.
As for my own progress today, I stripped the paint off a land speeder and a couple of marines in addition to all the work I put in early this morning. I also glued the arms to a Titan (epic scale sadly

Re: What did you do today.
I finished my new Urban themed 40K table which has been keeping me busy recently. Nothing too flash, basically a GW city sector all painted up. Next is the 40K wilderness board.
Oh yeah, Price, Soap, Yuri and I saved the world from that fiend Makarov i.e. I clocked the single player mode of COD:MW 3
