Had a great day of ITEN today :)

We played three games.

1. Squats VS Crimson Fists
2. Eldar VS Catachans
3. Nova Marines VS Chaos Marines and demons (400pts)

Much fun was had, let me tell you!

We used the 2nd ed stuff because we had all three books at hand.

The first game was just a shoot out, but the other two were to reclaim the stack of beans and Corona. We called it the Heinz Catastrophe!

After looking at the 3rd ed weapon list I can see why the shuriken catapult was changed as the minis Grit modifier was pretty lethal.

When we played Marines VS Chaos marines we found that the roll to get back up was a little too hard to achieve, so we will probably make a house rule to allow anyone nearby to add a modifier to help you get up.

We also want to write stats for missile launchers as it is a pretty iconic weapon.

All in all, a great day of gaming and our 40K enthusiasm has been rekindled!

I am in a quandary.

Last week I played X-wing, and thoroughly enjoyed it (again). I've also been watching the new SW film with the kids. Also thoroughly enjoyed it.

I now really really want to buy the X wing minis game.

Please explain to me why I shouldn't walk down that road.

Sincerely,
MiJ
Yes....Yes...come and join us.....

Seriously, it's a great casual game. I doubt there's much chance of FFG 'dropping it' given it's massive sales and popularity. Although....

Just got a sneak peek at the next White Dwarf. Only the cover, wasn't allowed to open him up but...

Looks like new flyers for Orks and Space Marines - pretty damn bad ass to boot!

Space Marines one is like a heavily armoured jet with loads of guns and the Orks one is like the current bomber with loads n loads n loads of Dakka !

I haven't posted here for a while, since other things have had me preoccupied:- My wife gave birth at about 1am this morning, and they're both doing well. It's a boy, Jyouji - although he'll be George Henry when I can get him a British birth certificate.
Phew. I couldn't be there for the birth unfortunately, but I'll see them this weekend.

Oh, and lovely work on the minis recently Konrad, MtP and Spev! And that ITEN is sounding rather cool.

Lovejoy! Congrats! More 1-to-1 scale miniatures for the collection.
How do those Tomica Star Wars toys scale to the FF minis?
Great pics Spev. I will have to give this ITEN another look.
...and now his Head was full of nothing but Inchantments, Quarrels, Battles, Challenges, Wounds, Complaints, Amours, and abundance of Stuff and Impossibilities.....

Congrats, Rich :) Glad to hear it all went well. :)

Ps How does one go about getting a British birth certificate for a kid? Both of mine are of course entitled to one, but I'm not sure how to go about it.
