Re: Commander Conversion Project
I am not saying that I use it.. in Japan have not even tired because I have been lazy. but I know that the glue I have used from 100 yen and the super market are really bad compared to what I have used in the USA.. the GW glue is expensive but it might be the best I know of in Japan...

this is a good product... you can get them to send it to Japan a bit pricy...

Like a few other posters have already mentioned, you can't go past Aron Alpha. You can get it anywhere, even some convenience stores! I use 'extra' because it's a little stronger and the tube is easier to use but the regular stuff is good too.

Re: Commander Conversion Project
For me the nicest thing about Alon Alpha (either kind) is that you can actually use up a tube without the glue clogging up or just going solid - that is some serious superglue tube engineering.
Feel free to call me Dave!

I went through so many other tubes of superglue simply because the nozzle blocked before I was even halfway through. I ended up having to either drill the nozzle out with a pin (messy) or, if the blockage was near the top, chop the top end off, which just resulted in the glue pouring out.
Get this stuff.

Re: Commander Conversion Project
Thanks for the great pics Mike, I headed to a nearby convenience store and found the "extra" aron alpha.
Super Glue in Japanese is Shunkansecchokuzai, and the stuff that I was using was just normal rubber glue (choukyouryokusecchokuzai "extra strong glue") or something. So I guess that now that I have found some real super glue to work with, my model(s) will hold together.
Thanks to all of you for providing me with invaluable information once again.
I wish I could try the Gailforce 9 glue that you recommend Admiral, I'm sure it's awesome, but the simplicity of just going to a convenience store to get the glue that almost everyone here uses, is just irresistible.
If I have any opportunities later on, I will try to order the Gailforce on the internet.

I am also going to add an auxiliary grenade launcher to the wrist, here's what I wanna ask you.
How would you do a grenade launcher? I searched around for some pics but didn't find any good ones, and I have never seen a GW model with an auxiliary grenade launcher like that.

Does this help?
And the "Crusty Old Game Geek" award goes to whoever can tell me where this illustration comes from.
