Numenoreans, of the last alliance, I think you will find...(Pushes imaginary spectacles back onto bridge of nose). I'll see if I have any spare hobbits for you, but doubt I do. Failing that I have a Hobbit movie Radagast, any good?
What did you do today.

Re: What did you do today.
I'll put him aside for you. He's not the Radagast in my head at all (hedgehog rabbit sleigh nonsense still smarts) but he's a great little mini which I got for free so no problem to pass on.
Clearly the Numenoreans could be any Arnor or Gondor force really, of any time. Even one of the fiefdoms. They look the part, winged helmets, white tree and all that palaver. Not like the books have much to go on in any case.
I have some myself, as I liked the High Elves that came in the same boxes particularly. Said elves appear as Rivendell/Eregion in the relevant rules supplement. I don't think they necessarily are intended to be purely Last Alliance era either, because the Glorfindel, Erestor, Elledan/Elrohir minis wear the same kit and are still alive in the 3rd age. Also, more recent Hobbit minis of Rivendell cavalry are basically riders wearing the same armor, hundreds of years after the Last Alliance. All according to the movies of course, but there you go.
Yes, I ought to get out more.

Ha ha - actually just painting up 4 Gondorians and Boromir (and starting on some gobberlings tonight) has got me feeling all Tolkien-y. I might just pull out my DVDs later and dive into the Fellowship.Lovejoy wrote:Yes, I ought to get out more.

I've been on a Tolkien kick on and off for a few months, it is always bubbling away in the background. I'm now listening to the BBC Lord of the Rings radio broadcast again for the umpteenth time on the way to work - they capture the spirit of the books better than the movies do, although I'm fond of the films too.The Other Dave wrote:Ha ha - actually just painting up 4 Gondorians and Boromir (and starting on some gobberlings tonight) has got me feeling all Tolkien-y. I'd love to play a few scenarios of the GW game through some time

Re: What did you do today.
No painting on my part for the past couple of days. Hopefully I'll get back behind the brush tomorrow. My mum sent me a package of CDs and Airfix kits which arrived this evening. I'm on a bit of a nostalgia kick at the moment, so I got her to send a bunch of my old Britpop albums. Blur, Sleeper, The Charlatans, Ash, Kula Shaker, Supergrass and Placebo. Loads of great songs.
Just need to convert them to MP3s so I can listen to them in my hobby room.

Hobby wise. Painting these up have been exhausting but so rewarding! 3 weeks in and the light at the end of the tunnel can be glimpsed!

@Jus - I echo Prim's words! Awesome!
I am off to NZ for a few weeks to visit the family. It's been around 8 years since I last visited the country, so I am sure lots has changed.
Take care everyone and see you all when I get back.
