Dang. Well, I hope they can be ordered through Ikeda. I am still wavering between ordering some stuff for lancers from Perry directly, or ordering the really nicely priced (Perry) Hussars and other Vixtrix boxes from Ikeda.

@ Voss: Yeah your Fallschirmjager suffered only the loss of the Pak40s holding up the German left, and a few stands of infantry in the Parachute and Pioneer platoons. But, I guess today was the reverse of Crete. The brave Gebirgsjager rushed into the woods to keep a foothold for the Germans and were sacrificed. Then, the Fallschirmjager did the mop up work. :D

Still, well done executing a inter-service plan that saw the Bolshevik onslaught stopped!

And having those peuter cannons should be nice. I hope you hurry up and build your new dwarf army and come down to some Nagoya game days to dual with us down here (or use Kani again)!

I just got around to trying (finally) Vallejo's alcohol-based liquid metal paints. I gotta say, it feels like you're painting on molten metal, it is that smooth.

Also, a quick question: has anyone tried ordering Forgeworld through Ikeda? Any idea how fast he gets it delivered?

I saw some minis painted with that liquid gold just today. I really must give it a shotty.

Today I did no mini related stuff at all, but last night I was up pretty late working on converting my cultists into zombies, getting my dark apostle looking suitably nurgle, cleaning mould lines off a hellbrute, and pondering how to make my chaos lord of sufficient quality to warrant painting to GD standard. Lots of wee thins, really. This week, however, I really need to put the nurgle aside for a bit and finish the eye makeup and runes on kbear's lion lady. Gotta finish it by saturday's epic game.

Today I read a book by Osprey about British forces during the Anglo-Zulu war. Most of it was quite interesting, though I did kind of skip the parts about what type of braid the officers wore on their coat sleeves. Makes me want to get on with my AZW project. Maybe once I finish my current batch of Napoleonics...

Downloaded all the WFB books, decided to bring my dark elves out of retirement and went about trying to arrange getting my dark elf army shipped to me from the other side of the planet.

Finished painting my space marine chaplain and a squad of scouts. Not half bad if I say so myself after not painting for 15 years. Now basing 14 space marine heads.

And so the buzz begins. I envy you having just got back into it, nothing beats that surge of creativity and excitement. :D

Yeah. I love focus. I really can't wait to get my fantasy battle army back into action. And also see what horrible paint jobs I did in my youth.

Today I picked up some 100 yen battle tanks that with the tracks and bottom taken off, will make excellent terrain debris once repainted. Also took the tops of of some to build some gun turret platforms. Checked the reasonable price of insulation boards for table top terrain and picked up a 100 yen flower pot that looks like a fortress wall design on it. Flip it over, put a roof on it, repaint it and voila, instant 40k building. Also found 100yen plant name sticks look great glued onto plastic cups and will make a building or fort, or fence. Barely needs painting.

Today I

- made a Hoth base hanger for 40k terrain. Haven't painted it yet, but put a base coat of white down.
- made the beginnings of a small pond.
- thought about the next bit of fluff to write.
- tidied up a couple of reaper minis, getting ready for priming
