Dunno about yon PS3, I'm not really a console kinda guy, but the Unreal series of FPS games are good. The unreal tournament games are fun. I think there might be more story based versions as well, but being able to jump in and spend 10 minutes killing (and being killed by) ai drones whilst I am waiting for dinner suits me just fine.

Yeah, Mass Effect is really a lot more RPG-ish than FPS-y. (And, to be pedantic, it's more of a third-person cover-based shooter anyway. :geek: )

I'm terrible at FPS games, so I can't really recommend any, though. I will recommend XCOM, though, which while it isn't an FPS is really really awesome.

Y'know, I bought ME2 in the hope it was a quick n cheerful FPS. Oh how wrong I was. Does anybody know any good SF FPS games for the PS3? Something like Doom or suchlike...

The Killzone series is supposed to be pretty good. Played Killzone 2 and thought it was decent enough.

Unreal is a good suggestion, but I've already played em all through (and really enjoyed them. The original Unreal is my top contender for Best Game Evah. So many classic moments, and so cutting edge for its time.)

When are iD software going to sort themselves out and make a new Doom game? I know doom 3 is being released for the ps3 soon, but like the unreal series, I already played it on the pc :(

@MiJ Bioshock, it's brilliant. Play it now.

Based the giant stone for terrain and based a 40k building that might get used if it works out. Put the second coat on about 16 heads and the metal parts of my dreadnought. My daughter did one helmet. Then put the shiny lights on the head gear of two marine scouts. Now, it's building the Xmas tree time.

Played a very enjoyable game of epic against yellowstreak, wherein my tyranids et his orkses all up  mwahahahaha :D To be fair, he did go through a spate of the most appalling dice rolling I've seen in many a year, and I can hardly claim credit for any brilliant tactical maneouvres, as all my li'l gribbly dudes did was charge forwards and eat things.

Lots of fun, though :)

Many thanks to yellowstreak for the game, prim, badruck, tenbear and kbear for the minis, and most of all to ToD for organising it all. Hats off to y'all, lads. Big up 'nuff respec' to the Naghammer posse 8-)

Today I played Epic in the morning before heading over to Town Crier in the afternoon to pick up some bits and pieces that I had ordered. Once I came home I spent about an hour or so putting together a watchtower for my Skaven.
I only managed to get a bit of painting done, but hopefully I can do some more after dinner.
