This evening I did some more work on a group of Arab archers.

No painting today, but I did wash some resin/Bones figures so that I can get them sprayed with undercoat in the near future.

It's been one of those chugging-away kinds of weeks for me too - some more work on my final 5 Skitarii (for now) to get ready for Sunday. I'm on track to finish, at least.

I havent posted here much recently, mostly due to not having done-very-much-today. I've not had a lot of time, due to kids being off (back at school/youchien today - wooo! finishing early all week - boooooo!) and generally being burned out from having them at home all day every day for the past 3 weeks.

Anyway, I've basically spent my time mucking around with Magic decks (played a bit against Grim Ironjaw the other night. Got gubbed, predictably enough, but in an educational way :) ) I've also been dabbling in altering my first card. Not finished yet, mostly as I have no clue what to put in the foreground. Grass stalks with bugs on? A frog looking puzzled? I dunno. I picked the card on the basis that it was on the top of my pile of cards-I-have-too-many-copies-of, so I should probably approach my next one with a bit more of an idea what I'm going to paint on it. Anyway, as a proof of can-it-be-done-by-dave, the answer seems to be "yes" for extensions, and "maybe" for full arts, as long as I have a plan. Which I don't, for this card. Anyway. Alters. A whole new way to burn up my non-existant free time. Mine is the one on the right, btw.

ps I have long been very intimidated by the idea of painting my own freehands on minis. Hopefully this'll help with that.

@M_i_J - Very impressive work, though you appear to have deleted most of the text. It's very hard to tell where the original ends and your painting begins, truly awesome painting!

Probably no painting for me for a while until it all arrives, although there is a GW about 10 mins walk from the hotel I'll be staying in until my stuff arrives...maybe i could just pick up a few paints and a little something to work on...?

@Prim- Arab stuff sounds fun. Just needs some genies and things to spice it up.
@MIJ- hand painted majic cards. I have not googled it, but I bet that is a thing.

Got some paint on those cultists in between putty curing times. Also just about have a couple of new Squat Orks done!
Not entirely happy. Some odd anatomy going on around the necks and shoulders, but as they are deviant, degenerate, inbred, and good God! one is even a Negro (You just cringe reading H.P Lovecraft sometimes....all the time......) they can get away with looking sort of bent and pinched in and twisted. Sort of experimented with the color. Trying working shading colors with complimentary colors and stuff. The pictures make the colors a bit brighter and more tinted than the real thing.

@Konrad: Awesome - both the sculpting and the painting turned out great, I reckon.

@konrad - those are all excellent. Sculpts are good, but colour choice is spot on. Very noice!
