Oh, shoot, I forgot they had released it yesterday. Tomorrow night is date night for my wife and I, so I might try to suggest it. Of course, my wife didn't even see all the LOTR movies. :?

Today I cleaned up and primed 20 metal minis for Hail Caesar and Black Powder. I also spent some time cleaning up the hobby room. I expect to be working in there a lot over my winter break so it made sense to get it in good condition. (The wife's nagging had absolutely nothing to do with this decision whatsoever. :? )

Yesterday I applied transfers to the shields of about 40 or so Romans, so hopefully today I should be able to get them all glued down onto bases.
I spent the day playing games with Col. Voss. We played Bolt Action first which ended in kind of a stalemate. In the afternoon we played Battletech again. I almost beat him this time around, but again the game ended with him in possession of the sole remaining Mech on the field. A lucky hit on my heaviest (and least damaged) Mech mid game was what did it I think.

I'll get you next time!!!

I had possibly the best Sunday for many a year.
Had no pain this morning in my stomach so I made a Larp movie in the woods for You Tube. Then visited Daves school for the Christmas pagent. Great tableaux dude. Did you help with set design?
And just now watched The Hobbit. It is very very fun and rich in Tolkien myth. Well worth the wait. Haven't enjoyed a film that much since the first trilogy ten years ago. It's different enough from the book not to ruin my imagination and it is a visual feast.
Go see it at the cinema guys, you'll thank yourselves for doing so. Wasted on a TV.
Loved it.

A weekend of ups and downs. Great time with my daughter until I had to involve the police twice and chew everyone out.

I did however stumble upon some decent scenery models at Don Xiote in the fish tank section . A little pricey for 600yen a piece. Decided to pass on them for now. I'll try to post pics later.

Started the base coat on the beginning of a mighty fortress like building. Going to try to use magnets for all the pieces. So far, so good.

Then Found some great buildings at the 100 yen store and put on a base coat. At 100 yen, I could cover a table in 40k outposts.
The one, the only.

Putting foot to butt all over the universe.

did pageant stuff today. @Ash - didnt realise you were coming today. If I'dve known I'dve come down from the balcony and said howdy do. And nah, the set design is nowt to do wi me, although I do have some ideas in that area. I was in charge of slides - both the prep of em (which takes forever) and the actual running/timing of em on the day. Not that exciting, I know, but a vital role, I like to think :p

I'm dead keen to see the Hobbit, but dont know when I'll be able to. Today was a no-no as post-pageant hansei meant I didnt get out of school till after 8. I suspect everybody round here has already seen it :( Anybody gonna be in the Tsu area over christmas and fancy a bit of middle-earth action?

I won't have time to see it until the last week of December or thereabouts. Might be fun to head out to Tsu, but I'd have to make babysitting arrangements.

@MiJ
We thought you might be busy. Great choice of slides by the way. Great to see London Olympics represented as well as some very thought provoking world topics. Thanks. Some good reflection had.
@ MiJ and Ten
Mate I'm planning to go see the Hobbit at least 3 times this holiday so let me know if you want to go again one night this week or another day. I've already bought half the merch and will be back for more. Hobbit pipes!
I've seen it in 2D so would be up for 3D.

@ PV
Sorry to hear about your run in with the Fuzz. Nothing too serious I hope.

Got some work done on the Ogre horde today, they're coming along bit-by-bit!

Saw the Hobbit yesterday at IMAX 3D. Brilliant stuff!

Headed home to Oz on awednesday for a proper summer Christmas! None of this cold weather and "white Christmas" nonsense! BBQ, beer, beach! That's Christmas!

Hope everyone here has a safe and happy Xmas!

Well, my intention was to base all my romans tonight, but when I went into my room I found that all the transfers applied yesterday had started to peel off! So, I stuck them all back down with glue, but didn't want to handle them until they were dry. So instead I spent a few hours putting together a Tamiya kit. A German Sd.Kfz.250/3. For those of you who don't speak German Abbreviation, that roughly translates to a short wheel base half track kitted out for command duties and sporting a long range radio system. It's a nice little kit, but I am not sure how many of the small, sticky-out bits will survive contact with the gaming table.
