It's a thought - I'll probably take a long hard look once the models are all assembled and give it a think. You do see people put flock on these sculpted bases sometimes, but (IMO) it almost always looks not-so-great.

Not much hobbying being done these days huh? Sadly I also don't have much to report. The only thing I did was cut some pieces off from semi-used sprues and tuck them away in bits boxes.

recently I've been helping my kids paint stuff more than painting myself (massive thanks to Prim for the minis, and also Spev, not that he's here to read this...)

For myself, all I've really done is tinker with a wraith from Shadespire. Really shouldnt have picked the colour I did for his robes. Very...vague, and hard to get right from mini to mini (it's a kind of ethereal orange, if you can imagine such a thing...)

ooh, one thing I did do is get 7 wins in a Sealed event in Magic Arena. First time ever to manage such a thing. The significance of it being (deep breath): Sealed is a special "event" (as opposed to regular "bring a deck and play" type games) where you get 6 packs of cards with 14 cards each, and build a 40 card deck from them. It costs 2000gems to enter (which is A LOT - gems are the in-game currency you're expected to pay real cash for, and if you're a cheapo FTP player like me, it takes about 2 months to save up that many by winning games in events you pay for with in-game gold, which you accrue by doing daily quests. Meh, it's complicated. Takes ages, anyway.) Anyway, right, high entry fee, high prizes. If you lose 3 games, yer out. If you manage 7 wins, you get your entry fee back, plus 200 gems, plus 3 packs, plus all the cards you got to start with. MEGA WIN TAAAIIMUUUU! and suchlike. Anyway, well done me

Finished up the first of four Sylvaneth angry tree-ghosts for Underworlds, Gallaghann of the Glade, multi-consonant alliterative tank.



He turned out pretty much exactly like I envisioned, which is always nice for those of us who mix our own washes. (That spot on the blade, though...) Should only be a couple days to finish the other three at this rate, and then I'll crack my big box of titan love.

The model looks great, I wouldn't worry about the blade. I am still trying to figure out what the blue garden ornament on his back is meant to be though.

yeah - we've been discussing the ornament over on the fb page, specifically what colour it should be. That conversation did kind of miss the more pertinent question (which Prim has, as usual, put his finger firmly upon), to wit: What the heck actually is it?
