What did you do today.
Re: What did you do today.
Well the transfers on my marines seemed to have settled in place correctly, so last night I varnished them and added in the last few details. Tonight I plan to add some static grass and then they will all be done and dusted. I'm not sure what I will work on next, maybe some figures for Bolt Action, or perhaps some other historicals. Hmmm, choices choices.

Rangers of Shadow Deep is pretty good - it's a co-op or solo-able game from the author of Frostgrave. I've played a few games and really enjoyed it.Konrad wrote:And swung by the Nagoya Miniatures Club display/demo yesterday. Anyone else drop in? Talked to Itakura san about "Rangers of Shadow Deep". I am very interested in giving that a go. Lots of pretty toys. Big, big toys. Those new Greater Daemons are like big as Bandai Urutoraman figures. And I so wish I had time to do up a Knight. It would be resplendent in a riot of shocking heraldry.
So many games, so little time....

My latest batch of minis is done.
First off, a LotR mini. Do you remember I entered a painting challenge over the winter? Well, as the entry cost for the challenge, the organiser asked that people send him one painted mini for his collection. For this year he was looking for Lord of the Rings figures and I just happened to have this guy left. Unfortunately it has taken me an extra 2 months to get him done since the end of the challenge, but done he is.

And for my own collection, some more Black Templars.

And these guys are the ones with transfers on their very curvy shoulder pads.

@Prim, good stuff!
I finished up the Iron Prince, Reaver-class Battle Titan of the Legio Gryphonicus:

The color scheme intentionally echoes my 40K admech scheme, as they're from Gryphonne IV - I'm actually pleased with how well it still reads clearly as Gryphonicus even with the dazzle camo over the top. I think I'll treat myself to the Warlord next.

@ToD - Nice work on the Reaver. I like the decoration on the base, it helps give it a sense of scale.

Thanks! Yeah, showing the scale is sort of the trick - you see a lot of these guys on featureless Martian red bases, and while there are definitely hints as to the size of the titan on the model, you do kind of have to look for them, and there isn't really all that much to make you go "yeah, this is a 25-meter-tall war machine".

Today I picked up a brush for the first time this week and did a bit of work on some Gurkhas for Bolt Action and some more Black Templars. I also received my Reaper Bones 4 kickstarter pledge. I now have more Bones than a dinosaur museum.

Re: What did you do today.
This week I have been engaged in that most epic of quests: digitizing my MtG card collection. By which I mean, entering all my mtg cards into a database software app thingy so I can search them and stuff. So far I've done 10,000+ cards (albeit some of those are multiples of the same card). Two more sizeable boxes to go and I can call it done. Phew.
I also painted some nurglings. Because they're really, really not hard. That was about as much as my poor brain could take this week, I'm afraid.

Re: What did you do today.
I've been chugging away at my warlord this week - he's an absolute unit, as the kids say, and even at my "on fire" painting speed it's a bit of a project. I also read Titandeath just to get in the Titanicus mood. My first Heresy book, so I have nothing to compare it to, but aside from a fairly gratuitous "mopey Sanguinius boards and takes out an Imperator because I guess we're contractually obligated to include primarch badassery in a heresy book" scene it was quite fun.
