Re: What did you do today.
heh. I'd make disparaging remarks if it wasnt for the fact that after seeing your Dredd minis I went off and watched the new Dredd movie. Quite enjoyed it, actually, but then I did watch it at about 1am, with a beer, and big headphones on so the bass was free to go "boom". Which it did a lot. Overall, I kinda felt it was almost too gory (not that I have a problem with gore, but it kinda became the point of the movie at some bits) but it did have a kick-ass soundtrack and, in my opinion, captured the grimy, overpopulated nastiness of megacity 1 quite well. Urban was ok as Dredd, too, although I feel sorry for the poor guy's facial muscles. His jaw musta hurt like hell after scowling constantly for the entire filming process

A quick imdb search today gave me cause for a "d'oh!" when I found out where I'd seen the baddie from Dredd before. It had been bugging me the whole movie. In my defence, she's usually blonde, but still, total "d'oh!" moment.

I finished the paint job on the Girls und Panzer stug I am making just for kicks. I thought about doing an Orks und Panzer stug and I still might.

Yup. I'm really bad with recognising actors sometimes. A quick change of hair colour/length and a bit of facial scarring and I'm completely fooledkojibear wrote:Game of Thrones?me_in_japan wrote:A quick imdb search today gave me cause for a "d'oh!" when I found out where I'd seen the baddie from Dredd before. I wasted most of today playing games on my PC, but I did manage to get a few licks of paint on some 'Mechs for Battletech. Which is good really as I am planning to use them tomorrow.

To me, she's Sarah Connor, not Cersei Lannister. She's dark-haired there, too.kojibear wrote:Game of Thrones?me_in_japan wrote:A quick imdb search today gave me cause for a "d'oh!" when I found out where I'd seen the baddie from Dredd before. And now he's nearly finished. Just need to varnish him and do the base.

Re: What did you do today.
Today (and over the past few days) I watched some movies, did a bit of building building (for 40k) and played a fair whack of Darksiders.
Movies:
Dredd - good, actually. Recommended if you have a spare couple hours and feel the need for a bit of shooting.
Total Recall - dull, actually. Stopped watching about half an hour before the end cos I was tired. That boring.
Resident Evil: Damnation - surprisingly watchable, given that it's a CG movie based on a video game franchise. Good fight scenes, rather effective CG (very good body movement/animation. Rather poor facial animation), kept the tone of the games pretty much spot on.
Resident Evil:retribution - unsurprisingly crap, given that it's the 5th resi movie. Just...pointless. A couple of fairly well done fight scenes, and some admittedly quite arty use of backwards slo-mo can't save it from being a big pile of pop. It does have Michelle Rodriguez in it, tho, and I have to confess to quite liking her as an actress.
Minis:
Working on my Jungle piece for nag hammer. I has a plan, yes I does, my precious...
Games:
Darksiders - this game is waaaay better than I expected. It's like all the good bits of Devil May Cry mixed with the good bits of Soul Reaver. I enjoyed both those franchises, I enjoy this un too. Lots of choppy chop, humongous bosses, waves of minions, and some rather nasty, forehead-wrinklingly muzukashi puzzles. And an annoying sidekick, but he gets gratifyingly punched in the head later on, so that's ok
All in all, I'm rather enjoying being off and completely wasting my time
