Welp, here's my 6-hour paint job on the Raptoryxes done for WarCry.

Good enough for a unit that basically just shows up sporadically and randomly. The beastmen for Underworlds are next since I'm on a roll.
Why didn't someone say you can play this game with dinosaurs? I'm in! raaaugh! hissssss.... ;)

They've even released stats for lizardmen if you want to go Full Dinosaur!

I finished up Grashnak's Despoilers for Underworlds this morning - another all-Contrast job as I'm sure you're all sick of hearing me say by now.

With that I have a couple Beastgrave warbands, importantly with access to pure faction decks, to run demos with this next games day, so people don't have to figure out / get blasted by my two more-tuned, more-complex "serious" decks. :?

@Dave you're really churning out those warbands. Contrast is fun to work with so I don't blame you for using it.

I got some more work done on the Ork flyers from AI. Did all the metallic bits in Leadbelcher the which I "glazed" with various Contrast paints to get the look of different sorts of metals. I really like how the engines turned out. That was just Snakebiter Leather over Leadbelcher. Anyway onto the cockpits and other details next.

@Karantu, looks good! Snakebite is probably one of the more useful colors - that's a *really* nice look over gunmetal, I'll have to snag the idea.

Another one-day Contrast bash-out paint job, three gryph-hounds for if I ever decide to use my Stormcast in WarCry.

Leaning in to the studio "animals in Azyr have bright blue fur" thing, because the white undercoat and vibrant colors let me do that. A little bit of trouble on the big flat areas their flanks present, which I'll have to be careful of for the centaur who's up next on the workbench.

The middle gryff has nice highlights on his neck feathers, but the other two seem a little flat by comparison. That said, the blue is reet pingy, and works very well. You've pretty much convinced me to pick up some more contrast paints, btw. I deeeessperately need something to speed up my painting. I have a couple of em (erm...green and fleshtone? I canny mind the actual names...) but havent had much chance to use them, really. As per usual, I gotta paint more...

Yeah, the red contrast (Blood Angels Red) doesn't... do contrast very well, relatively speaking. I did a quick drybrush on all 3 to up the texture, but as usual the one I felt I overdid it a bit on is the one that turned out OK.

Speaking of leaning on Contrast:

Image

I've been gluing a LOT of Sisters and there's no hope of finishing painting them by Sunday (barely any hope of starting by then), but I can field a fully painted Kill Team in the morning :)

I love the termies but it's hard to fit them into a 40K list. Hopefully when Saga of the Beast lands Wolf Guard will be strong enough that I can finish painting them and maybe actually field them as Space Wolves 😅

@Jye - that's bloody nice, that is. White's always a bit tricksy to do, and that termi looks just right. I appreciate that it's a pale grey rather than white, but same principle :) Job's a good 'un, I say.

That's very kind of you to say right after Dave's expert work :) The truth is it's Space Wolf Grey that I slapped on in about 15min at the end of lunch time, then popped on the other colours after dinner. The constrast jobs don't hold up vs real skill and technique on close examination but they do alright across the table or across the internet!
