I couldn't put them down given the huge difference between the Ork and Imperial flyers but since I've gotten that out of the way I can finally move on . Maybe I'll paint that Nemesis titan for AT next. I posted more pictures on twitter if anyone's interested. I didn't want to spam them all here.

The game is pretty fast paced since its played on a hex grid and doesn't doesn't have too many convoluted rules (yet). You need to track both the speed and altitude of your aircraft, of which the later affects what you can shoot at. Also since you declare all your maneuvers secretly you need to try and guess what your opponent is going to do while not giving away your own plan. In terms of balance, with two factions so far that play extremely differently and have different weapons, the game it can be pretty one sided, especially given the fact that hit rolls are 5+s at best, "luck" can make the game pretty swingy.

Overall its not bad and I'm looking forward to the next release which should have Tau and IG aircraft. Its probably going to introduce rules like hover as well as more variety in general.

Finally got that last Digga of the last batch (mostly) finished. I'm going to get some weathering pigment one of these days and play with dusting up the base and some strategic spots on her body. I did experiment with some Tamiya pigment on an old, fuggly sculpt. Decided to chop her up and see if I can fix her afterwards. Also painted up another Big'ead I have had lying around for ages and a POC....booger?

As always watch out! Nothing but some sand and grime keeping her PG-13.

Sacrosanct Chamber for games at Plamojuku this weekeend. My first time using wash, which felt unnatural as clearly only a single coat of paint should go on anything, but Duncan assured me it was for the best.

It looks rougher than hell in the picture. Digital photography is not my friend.

That is some oooooold skwellllll! I have a copy of the original Space Hulk (Deathwing, in bits and pieces, too) come to think of it). Should crack that out one of these days.
I got a couple of lamps and rigged up a light box. Used them for the first time on those pictures I put up. Still not right, (cheap lamps too weak, the box too big for these little toys) but some generous color editing made them look okay. I used the left over cloth to build some screens. I'll try putting them in front of the lamps and then adjust the lamp distance instead of using the box next time.

That neat half and half scheme and the freehand hazard stripes are legit.

That tiny base though :D

Back in my day we had one size of base and we thought we were lucky to have that. You kids these days don't know how good you've got it.

That was also my day but I was a bit too young to afford minis so my armies were mostly lego dreadnoughts, which avoided the base question.
