Movies:
Dredd - good, actually. Recommended if you have a spare couple hours and feel the need for a bit of shooting.
Total Recall - dull, actually. Stopped watching about half an hour before the end cos I was tired. That boring.
Resident Evil: Damnation - surprisingly watchable, given that it's a CG movie based on a video game franchise. Good fight scenes, rather effective CG (very good body movement/animation. Rather poor facial animation), kept the tone of the games pretty much spot on.
Resident Evil:retribution - unsurprisingly crap, given that it's the 5th resi movie. Just...pointless. A couple of fairly well done fight scenes, and some admittedly quite arty use of backwards slo-mo can't save it from being a big pile of pop. It does have Michelle Rodriguez in it, tho, and I have to confess to quite liking her as an actress.

Minis:
Working on my Jungle piece for nag hammer. I has a plan, yes I does, my precious...

Games:
Darksiders - this game is waaaay better than I expected. It's like all the good bits of Devil May Cry mixed with the good bits of Soul Reaver. I enjoyed both those franchises, I enjoy this un too. Lots of choppy chop, humongous bosses, waves of minions, and some rather nasty, forehead-wrinklingly muzukashi puzzles. And an annoying sidekick, but he gets gratifyingly punched in the head later on, so that's ok :D

All in all, I'm rather enjoying being off and completely wasting my time :D
Finally someone that found Total Recall as bad as I did. I stopped watching it half was through as well. Dredd could have been better if it had stuck with the first Dredd movies bikes and city. Preferred The new Dredd and costumes though.

I don't know what you get up to on your family holidays, but it is obviously pretty different to what I do.

This evening I started assembling an Impi of Zulu warriors. I got all the bodies done, now I just need heads and arms. I also watched Hart's War (starring Bruce Willis and Colin Farrell), which was was easy to watch/listen to as I filed off mould lines. :D

@Badruck - That's a nice looking bastion.

I didn't do a lot today, but I did finish building my Zulu Impi and undercoated all of them.

I finished getting some shelving built in my new hobby room ( that shamefully is shared with a 6 year old and a pink sofa). But alas, the gf has signed off on it and I'll take what I can get. I picked up 4 guard platforms for the imperial gate or fortress that is in the works. And I picked up some really nice terrain pieces today at viva home. My gaming table is starting to look really good. Hope to have it mostly built by this holidays end. Then I painted a few marine backpacks, glued together my vindicare assassin and put what I could on the new shelves.

I love vacation time. I was able to catch up on a ton of building and painting. Got my sm dreadnought finished and ready. Got about 15 marine backpacks finished as well. Almost have my Sanguinary guard/grey knight terminators based. Got my captain painted up as well and put a new head on him. Painted up one walkway bridge and some street cinder blocks.

Then got my designs for my imperial landing pad printed up and one imperial tower built. Got all my tree models put on bases and have to say they came out great. And got one wall piece based for my imperial fortress. Thank god even the gf pitched in and did some cutting. And my daughter did the glass work for my imperial windows.

All in all not bad for day two of hobby time. Still have to get to my stormtalon. It's a must and will be tackled the day after tomorrow.

This should make Job and Pikey smile (or quake in fear depending)
