I’ve seen that! There’s a few videos where he puts a laser on it and pops balloons.

@TOD- I know! Should come with a parental warning.
There is a not bad rust tutorial in the mix too. Uses GW paint and a plastic Doraemon.....
I have a student who spends most of his time in class making ball point pen spring guns. I hope he is not watching. Every year I say to my self, I'm going to build a table tennis ball bulldozer robot with the gijutsu class and just 40K bling the heck out of it. Maybe this year.
And here is the latest
Pimped the spear and added some hair. I'll make some sort of wrapping/tie/ornament to tie it together. It looks sort of flat in the picture, but there is actually more volume. Pretty happy with how it turned out so far.

And some details on the Chaos Dwarfs. Those manacles were a pain in the butt.... Still need to clean up a bit here and there. I think I'll try and change the face of the one with spilling his drink. He should look a bit drunker. The drunk guard always has the keys hanging on his belt in the movies. Right?
I'm split on making his cap look like leather, or put a rim and some rivets/spikes to make it look more like a proper helmet. Thoughts?

...and now his Head was full of nothing but Inchantments, Quarrels, Battles, Challenges, Wounds, Complaints, Amours, and abundance of Stuff and Impossibilities.....

Looking good!
Oh! I hadn't realized the Thomas tank guy is the same guy who does the postapocalyptic cartoon character-themed figures too. He turns up on my twitter feed a lot.

@Konrad - Nice work on the dwarves, they're coming along nicely. I'd go with a helmet rather than a leather cap. Chaos Dwarves are all about the heavy, uncomfortable headgear.
@ToD - I've seen bits and pieces of that guy's work. It's disturbingly impressive.

I hate to be cantankerous (hey was a dwarf player for years), but have you ever had horns grow out of your head? Me neither. Nevertheless, I’d speculate a leather cap would be easier to take on and off.Primarch wrote: ↑Sat Apr 18, 2020 6:51 am@Konrad - Nice work on the dwarves, they're coming along nicely. @ Konrad: You are a true stumpy at heart. Tonight, I will raise my copper beer tumbler full of Yona Yona ale in a hearty toast.
@ Tod: Well, my daughter has a small toy Percy... I have plans for it now once my girls are off to college.
I’ve finally had a chance to break out some paint and grab a few hours of painting over the last week. I dug up some ancient Berzerkers in my collection. Some day I’ll get to posting pics.

Earlier this week I painted up some Reaper minis. They look a bit rough zoomed in like this, but they're presentable enough at tabletop distance.

Re: What did you do today.
I finished up the Hidden Vault in Blackstone last night - I got very lucky with my hostile draws, so it ended up being not too terribly difficult, and now the Man of Iron has apparently fused with the Fortress and become double-plus immortal? Can't see how anything could go wrong with that! (My secret envelope had the card that makes the bearer auto-crit gambit rolls, which is nice for someone who's not intrinsically good at gambits.)
Since the weather has turned good, tonight I'll prime the Escalation contents, then this week I can paint up the cultists and get started on Escalation.

@TOD: Is your Escalation in English or Japanese? ...cus I need to get it, along with the cultist dudes pack. What about the difficulty extra deck? I hear that the game gets kind of easy as you go.
During my sojourn in the wilderness of Tokyo, I wasn't completely idle, just mostly.
here's some stuff:

Dark Apostle Word Bearer for RPG - coming up with a backstory for him is fun!

My version of Janus Draik. Bad photo I know. gomen

ergo, urghuls

Re: What did you do today.
English! Yodobashi tends to have both (in their online store too). I don't have the difficulty-bumping decks, but it's my understanding they're a kind of a rough patch to the problem. TBH I think the biggest thing you could do for difficulty is just ensure you're playing in a group, with a hostile player - the procedural AI pretty often acts sub-optimally. For solo play, though, I wouldn't say the game is exactly *easy*, it's just that the swing in difficulty level is determined in moment-to-moment card draws and dice rolls rather than being a constant, so you can get an encounter that's a cake walk and then one that goes south almost immediately, just depending on the enemies you get and where they are physically, the order of activation, and who does and doesn't roll crits.
I can see, though, why none of the Escalation explorers have a "get this item and be always inspired" mechanic - if anything in the game is straight-up overpowered, it's that.

Shadowguide was the only one like that I used and she was nuts. It's a good thing Vorne has to work for her inspired condition, she'd be a monster if she could perma-inspire.The Other Dave wrote: ↑Mon Apr 20, 2020 10:22 pmI can see, though, why none of the Escalation explorers have a "get this item and be always inspired" mechanic - if anything in the game is straight-up overpowered, it's that.
Anyway, Escalation is good times, with dungeon mapping and everything! The only drawback is you can end up having a lot of fights that probably won't matter if you're not super careful with your mapping and exploration.
