Andrew's Infinity miniatures

Post by AndrewGPaul » Fri Jun 03, 2011 7:52 pm

I've been repainting my Infinity miniatures, and mounting them on the Micro Art Studios bases. The first fruit of my labours is a few hundred points of Imperial Service:

Apologies for the somewhat poor photos; my camera battery is dead, and these are from my iPhone.

Those Infinity figures look nice, especially mounted up on decent bases like that.

Where is the pipe-line terrain from, home-made or from a company? I think I've seen something like it before but I cant remember where.

Nice! I like the Ninja Hacker!

I am a fan of the Infinity miniatures myself and really like the Japanese style so I ordered the Saito Tougan model to use in my Japanese Environment for Strange Aeons, but after giving it a lot of thought the model doesn't fit very well into the 1920's theme of the game, so I don't really know what to use it for. I might end up doing some conversion work to make it fit more into the theme of the game and paint it accordingly then use it anyway...

Just love the dynamic pose.

wotcher andymate - ohisashiburi :)

as with everyone else, I like the ninja. Not to say the other minis arent good, just that the ninja jumps out a bit more. Is the robot done with so much metal for fluff reasons, or just cos you wanted to?

btw, out of interest, as a long time gamer, whats your take on the GW resin/trade embargo debacle? (see here for rant/grumps/hissy fits/and occasional discussion)
current (2019) hobby interests
eh, y'know. Stuff, and things

Wow. And then Corona happened. Just....crickets, all the way through to 2023...

I painted the robot in silver because I wanted a shiny one. :) If it's good enough for Battlestar Galactica ...

Also, it's a good contrast to the other Yu Jing (Chinese/Japanese) miniatures, as it's an allied unit, not a member of the same army. The "official" colour scheme is white with glowy pink bits:

http://www.infinitythegame.com/infinity ... -tactbots/

The pipe terrain is from Ainsty Castings (look in the Refinery section). I'm not sure who made the big white tanks on the left side; I just had them lying around.

The ninja's armour was painted with Citadel Jade Green, just because I've had a pot for a decade (one of the old hexagonal pots with the white snap-top lid) and hardly used it. Came out a lot better than I expected. Ninjas in Infinity have a cloaking device, like the Predator. I'm thinking of painting the lower parts of the models so the base colour is "flowing" up the legs.

As for the Finecast business, it's a little disappointing. The one model (a Terminator Librarian) I've seen in the flesh was nearly perfect ... except for a huge air bubble obliterating half toe palm of the left hand. :( I've seen good and bad examples on the internet, so it appears they can do it right - I'll just wait until they (nearly) always do it right before I buy anything. I'm not reading that thread, Dave, because I've already read more than my fair share of variably-informed ranting. :) Perhaps I should buy some of the models in my wishlist before they disappear.

Thanks, I knew I'd seem them before.

And any robot that looks like it belongs in Battlestar Galactica gets two thumbs up from me.

I do like the Infinity range. It's almost jarring to see some nice hard sci-fi from time to time with all the grimdark gothic space opera we're usually awash with, heh.

Is that acetate hacking hologram thing on the ninja hacker included with the model? I'd always wondered about that.
Feel free to call me Dave!

They used to be. Now, they're available as downloads from the Infinity website. Older blisters working their way through the supply chain will still have 'em.

I think the figs that Prim bought for me are from different armies, though I did buy a Yue Jing starter pack, I believe. Once Prim finishes making them for me (LOL Thanks, mate!) let's get a game in. Your figs are beautiful!

You might want to check the location of AGP before you make too many plans. :D
