SotTR Sizes

Post by Seb » Thu Jul 21, 2011 5:52 pm

I am thinking of getting some Secrets of the Third Reich minis, but I am not sure if they will fit with my other miniatures because they seem pretty small.
Would anyone who has some of these please tell me how they are in size compared to Malifaux or other known miniature lines?

They are the same size. Their monsters tend to be a bit bigger (I have 3 of their werewolves and they are quite tall), maybe terminator height, but without the bulk.
Basically any 28mm models you buy should be ok, though some come in 'Heroic" scale (ie Warhammer size) and some come in 'Real' scale (Infinity size). SotTR is Heroic scale, along with GW, Privateer Press, Black Scorpion, Malifaux, Dust and other non-historical games. Real scale models tend to be mainly historical such as Bolt Action and the other Warlord sets, Victrix, I think Copplestone might be though I havent seen any models up close, and Infinity despite the fact it is an SF game.
The differences in size are noticeable if you mix the same types of models together, e.g. Bolt Action infantry and SotTR infantry, so you're probably better off trying to get stuff in the same size for your humans. Monsters aren't an issue as they dont need to be human sized and having them looking big and scary is good.

I see, thank you.
I experience for example the infinity models to have good height compared to heroic but the bulkiness is different, my copplestone, perry and malifaux models go good together but infinity looks quite small compared to all those, just because the lack of that bulk.

But I find infinity models look like real humans the most and they are very attractive so I will mainly go with them, and then find other lines that fit well with infinity.

I wonder what miniature lines would go along good with infinity?
